I could see pointing fingers at him during the first game, particularly with how bad his big man rotation was in the 2nd half.

But he corrected those mistakes in this game, didn't see anything egregious at first instance.

This thread's context is quite silly honestly.

You gotta be kidding me..the loss is on the fact that they have freaking LEBRON JAMES and KYRIE IRVING that took over in the 4th. How did you feel about Doc doing the same thing for the players to keep them fresh? Our guys go balls to the walls almost the entire game to give themselves a chance...this is just ridiculous!

Nothing ridiculous about it! This game was very winnable. The Celts were within 2 points in the 4th quarter.

Yes. And we executed well and we got some pretty good looks to actually get the tie or more, it's just that the shots did not fall. But of course, that's Brad Steven's fault, right?

Yes it is, if he's letting his team take off shoot arounds

Is there any evidence that shootarounds improve performance? I honestly have no idea.

You know what's weird, I wonder if it works the same when we were down double digits and we shot well during a span of the game in which we cut the lead to two. I mean, does the lack of shoot arounds only affect players when they don't make shots in critical periods of the game?

That's what I thought Abby Chin said on her sideline report before the game.

this seems to be a rather thin branch on which to hang a heavy accusation.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Did I hear Abby Chin say that Stevens let the team take off the shoot around before the game today?

Smooth move.

The 4th place coach failed to help teach his guys to make the adjustments from game 1 to win game 2.

They couldn't hit the side of a barn in the 2nd half. Good thing Stevens gave the team the shoot around off though. Must be part of the famous Stevens system.

Don't agree at all that the teams shooting was the coaches fault.  They all warmed up at half time too....   Come up with something better than that.

God forbid we should win a game vs Cleveland.

And Tyler Zeller..wow!

Anyone see him jog up the court when Lebron (or was it Kyrie?) passed the ball to Love in the fast break?

Embarrassing.

Cleveland must be heartbroken they don't have him anymore.

You have a Celtic team that starts 5 guys who would not crack the starting line-up of a far superior Cavs squad But somehow our coach is at fault. WOW. I think it's time to have a good reality check.

To the original poster, I think you are missing the point of rooting for a team like the Celtics. It is not just about winning a title. It is the pursuit of the title and the stories that go along with it. You should listen to the interview of Sean Grande by Bill Simmons. Sean sums it up best when he talks about how only one team wins it all and only 5 teams really have a shot at it. The rest of the teams that will not ever have a chance at it like the Celts are just as important. Our guys tonight made the story great. The all played hard and they played like they were a team that actually had a shot at beating the Cavs and maybe the title. At the end of tonights game I can find very little fault with any of our guys especially CBS. The only problem our guys had tonight was being outmatched from the start.

Yeah Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ing about the job Stevens is doing is about as ungreatful and pathetic as it gets

If 5 more shots had gone into the basket, we win...

Why assume that the shootaround was the difference?

Proud of the effort...can't wait til they get home and rock the TD Garden.

The game was winnable because of Brad. His schemes put the players in positions to make shots and defend a couple of the world's best athletes. Unfortunately shots don't always fall and any good coach will tell you that no scheme can stop Kyrie and LeBron when they want a bucket.

This post was really not thought through. One bad play makes giving up Zeller a smart move for them? Stop.
