I don't think Carlisle has any chance of getting fired.  He's one of the best coaches in the league.

The fact is Dallas was never a title contender pre- or post-Rondo trade, especially not out in the brutal West.  Dirk had a great game today but he can't put a team on his back for a playoff series anymore.  And they're just not good enough defensively to get it done.  They needed a defensive big after the trade, not Amare Stoudemire.  I think it's a personnel issue, not a coaching issue.

Yeah, that trade really screwed them.  They could really use Crowder's defense, Wright's efficiency and Jameer's spacing.

I wish NBA teams, and sports franchises in general, showed more patience with coaches.  I don't expect Carlisle will be fired, but often you'll see coaches fired after one bad year.

It's not like Toronto does not have good bench guards. Lou Williams and G.Vasquez are one of the best, if not the very best, backup backcourt in the league.
