Same old story...CP3/Clippers can't make it past the first-round lolol  ;D

And yet we'll still be seeing their commercials even more until the finals are over.  I don't know if it was notorious jvg ;) ;D or skip bayless who said it, but for once, I actually agree with them (or whoever it was), "once you're out of the playoffs, your commercials should be pulled from the tv," or something to that effect, lol. ;D

I know right?! Jeez we got like two or three Blake Griffin Kia Optima commercials, and then we got several State Farm commercials with Chris/Cliff Paul...and I'm just sitting there with a "meh" expression.  :-\

What an awesome game. I felt that shot by Griffin would've gone in regardless had Jordan not touched it. Superb block by Duncan.

Hope the Spurs can close it out at home.

Outside of Game 3, Chris Paul has been fantastic this series. Same for Blake. These losses aren't really on them so much as they are on GM Doc sabotaging Coach Doc and his team.

To be fair, the officiating was turribly ;) ;D in favor of the Spurs, imo, especially down the stretch.  There were 4 or 5 fouls that weren't called when Blake or anyone else went to the hoop, and that could have made the difference.  Plus, why is the league allowing Bill Kennedy to ref games in which Doc is coaching?  Their history has been well documented.  I just figured that someone was actually paying attention.  Oh wait, never mind, lol. ;D *facepalm*

What about game 2 when Blake made some really boneheaded plays down the stretch like continuously losing the dribble?  Of course, why he was handling the ball in the first place is an entire different matter. ;) ;D He really lived up to his Karl Malone comparison at the line in the closing seconds, btw.  Wow, lol. ;D The first one wasn't even close.

Blake is shooting something like 4/21 in the fourth quarters of these playoffs, so I attribute his Game 2 miscues partly to fatigue; he was noticeably exhausted pretty much throughout the whole fourth quarter of last night's game, for example. There's the personal fumble aspect that Blake needs to be held accountable for, but I put the fatigue matter on GM Doc's plate: Blake has to log so many minutes because Spencer Hawes has been unplayable. The Clippers essentially go six deep and have to hope for at least minimal contributions from Big Baby and Austin Rivers.

Does this Nets series make it more likely that Brook Lopez opts in for next year ??, you would think that Young would ..Hopefully they do bring back The Gang for unfinished business and the bottom really falls out next year ;D
If Brook and Thad stick around and Brooklyn has some luck with health next season, they might be 2nd best team in the East.
Except for the Teletovic clot problem you could argue that they had pretty good health this season apart from the odd ankle sprain.
Unless you think Thaddeus Young is that big of a difference maker that is a huge jump for that roster to be making.

I dont think he is serious (I hope not). How that team leaps the Bulls, Wizards, and Hawks (And Bucks) while holding off every other young team below them would happen with 79 million tied up in Williams, Johnson, Lopez, Jack and Young. That's right 79 million on that 5.
They were significantly better after Lopez got healthy and they added Thad.   That team can fully healthy can be the 2nd best team in the East.

While I think #2 is going a bit far, for the most part I agree.

Brook, when healthy and properly utilized (i.e. fed in the post on a regular basis), is an All-NBA caliber center.  Cousins is probably the only center who is more difficult to handle on the offensive end.  Brook is also an underrated defender; he's a lumberer with no ability to defend the perimeter, but in the paint he's not so bad, and he actually a decent shot blocker.  He just can't rebound.

So yeah, if Deron could finally put together a reasonably healthy bounce-back season and Thad and Lopez fully integrate into the Nets' offense (which would require that Iso-Joe has his role considerably scaled back), I could see the Nets winning 50ish games and winning the division.  After all, just two years ago they won 49 games.

I don't really blame Deandre for the offensive interference.

The thing that's so annoying about that rule is that you're basically asking players to stifle their instincts around the basket -- instincts you want your players to have.

You want your big men to try and get into position near the basket and be very active and quick in putting back any shots that don't immediately go in.  You don't want Deandre to stop and think about what he's doing, you just want him to be in the right spot and immediately go after any misses and try to put them back in, especially with only a few seconds on the clock.

I'm glad the Spurs won, but hopefully the league changes the rules to match the way FIBA does it.  Changing the rules to allow more above the rim action couldn't hurt the product, and it might help shift the balance of power a little bit back toward teams with size inside.

I think they could win 45 games. However, second place in the conference is ridiculous. Deron Williams has one good game and we are supposed to ignore the fact that he is 31 this offseason and has seen his minutes and scoring go down 5 straight years? Joe Johnson also turns 34 this offseason and his numbers have declined for 4 straight years. That is two starters in very serious decline with really no reason to believe they can reverse it (especially Joe Johnson). Lopez actually played 72 games this year. By paying 50 million to Johnson, Williams and Jack they can't really add anything to their bench. I don't get why we debate such ridiculous things.
