The only way Boston has a chance of pulling an upset is if they win 1 of the first 2 in cle , then win all their home games (3,4 , and 6)

Highly doubt it happens, but am hoping for the best.

Game 1 is the steal game, and it's probably our only shot of winning a game in this series before the Cavs adjust and win the next 4, lol. ;D Ugh.

1). It's not 2010, and even at that time, what occurred in the first 2 games was completely unexpected, and 2). This stuff is getting ridiculous, imo.  Even Gorman said that the Celtics will win the series in 6 games. :o I love you, Mike, and the excitement for this team is understandable, but come on.  Reality is going to hit us like a ton of bricks, kind of like what happens to the basket when Lebron shoots a jumper, lol. ;) ;D Just kidding.  His shot is much better now, unfortunately. :'( Sigh.
Did Gorman really say that?  :o

Yeah, it would be the 2001 Finals all over again. :D
When you lose, the easy part is to see who gives up. Giving up is very simple. You basically take your stuff and walk away. To continue to work and to continue to compete is one of the most difficult things, especially when you really don't have anything - KG

I believe if we win the first two games, a magical time machine will appear out of my butt... and I'll be able to take it back to Prom night 2001 where prime Brittany Spears will be my date.  She'll be wearing her VMA "Slave 4 U" outfit and I'll be the snake.

while I'd love nothing better than to be in a position of taking the first 2 games to see if the Cavs actually fold (or even take one of the first 2), it'll never happen because:
-->the first game is (A) in Cleveland (B) on National television (C) with the (begrudgingly) best player in the game that never gets called for travels, palming or fouls (particularly offensive ones).

There is no way the NBA will allow Cleveland to look like anything less than a juggernaut on Sunday and they will get every break from the officials.  Their golden boy is on center stage with his homecoming to bring a title to his hometown.  Mark it down now, Cavs will win the title and there will be plenty of officiating calls called into question that ensure this 'destiny' comes to pass.

The refs won't allow it I wager.

Absolutely the Cavs will fold if the C's can win the first two.  Remember, this Cleveland team has not been together very long and for all their accolades, Irving and Love are still unproven in a playoff situation and with their backs against the wall.

However....there is absolutely no way the refs will allow the Celtics to guard Cleveland well enough so that there would be any hope of winning both Cleveland games.

I'm hoping they can steal one of the two and get this into the Garden with the series outcome still up in the air.

If we lose the first two games, or the series, it won't be because of the refs.  It will be because the Cavs are one of the best teams in the NBA.  Lebron and Kyrie don't need any help to beat the Celtics, as much as we'd wish otherwise.

The only way the Celtics have a shot at defeating the Cavs, is if the refs allow the Celtics to play hard nose, physical defense on LBJ and company. I can see if Labron begins to feel he's not getting his normal preferential treatment, he will come unhinged.

My game plan for the C's would include several players playing him very physically. Sometimes double teaming, sometimes not.

I understand he a quite a load, but allowing him to get into an uninterrupted flow is the kiss of death.

That said, when the Cavs pickup Mozgov and especially Perk they brought the team size and toughness to a much higher level. Unfortunately we have no answer for either.

Just like nobody had an answer for KG, Perk, Posey, and Leon Powe in 08.

Yes, a lot of my theory hinges on the notion that the refs stop acting like a bunch of crooks on the dole of the mafia. And thus, the Cavs will actually have to play real team ball than just dishing it out to James, getting out of the way, and letting him bulldoze whomever he wants, w/o getting called for it.

If so, then there's a possibility of the C's grinding out the first two games with a 'W'. Then, as the series progresses, the teamball mentality of the Cavs will fold, James will have his occasional high scoring hero ball games, and then, it'll be over in 6. He'll then complain to management saying that no one helped him out and you get the rest.

Nonsense, we'd clearly beat them if not for the multi-layered conspiracy pointed against us.   ::)

People, how did Vlad (the Impaler) of Romania, hold out against a vastly superior Ottoman Empire army?

It was psychological terror, he had countless Ottomans captured and impaled on the roads. And thus, many Ottoman divisions were terrified of even engaging him in the open battle field, once they'd seen what their potential future could be in gory detail.

And likewise, right now, the Cav's are feeling like the confident Ottoman armies, knowing perfectly well that the Sultan's watching their backs.

But then, with many of BS's schemes and switches, they'll have every possession in games 1 and 2 contested. Then, with James demanding the ball, again and again, his teammates will lose focus and start to feel like that they're not that great of a team, as they'd originally anticipated.

And finally, you'll see it, the other 4 Cavs will be standing around, waiting for James to complete the play. The last 4 games will be pure hero ball, with them winning 2 during a few hot shooting streaks.

TP.  A rare dose of sanity among Celtic fans.  I'm almost speechless.

Also, the title of this thread is flawed.  If we win the first two games, we clearly wouldn't need the cavs to fold.  We would simply be the better team.

That said, the only thing Lebron, Irving and Love will be folding is origami on the bench during extended garbage time as the cavs blow us out four straight games.
