Luuuuuunnnnccchhh? It's 1:15!

We had a late breakfast after a certain 3-year-old had a level 39 MELTDOWN that I was taking him to the wrong place. "THE PLACE WE HAD ORANGE JUICE AND BACON!!!!" (very specific huh?) he screamed as he tried to explain the directions "TURN THERE AND GO UP THERE AND THEN..."

So, yeah... we're just getting to lunch   ;D :P

So naturally you spanked him 300 times while explaining you have fantasy league duties, right? It's what I would do. "I ....have...a ....trade...to .....announce....Junior!......EJA...will....want...to ,.....know!"

Huh. Fine trade, but too low risk, low reward for the Bacon for my liking. For a team that's still working for its first playoff appearance this is just a lateral move. Towns ceiling is so much higher than Monroe's, who's biggest asset is his durability. Clarkson's sophmore leap and the 21st pick in a deep draft for Chandler Parsons and a late 1st a year from now is also a wash. But Donald Sloan is just happy to be in a trade conversation.

On second thought, maybe I'm undervaluing Parsons' guaranteed across-the-board production? Is Clarkson's success putting up big numbers on a bad team? Maybe he fails early and sees his minutes divided up between Kobe and Lou Williams?

By way of comparison my own guy Langston Galloway is the other improbably successful 23 year old rookie combo guard from 2014-15 and the opinion around our league seems to be that his production was largely the result of the Knicks' struggles.

17.1 Points on 52.8 TS% 0.9 3PTM 5.0 AST 4.7 REB 1.2 STL 2.3 TO per 36 for Clarkson
13.2 Points on 48.9 TS% 1.5 3PTM 3.7 AST 4.7 REB 1.3 STL 1.5 TO per 36 for Galloway

Clarkson is the tougher cover and two inches taller but it's an interesting comparison.

Durability is probably the most underrated trait in the league though.  That's why I'm not big on LeBron as a fantasy player - he's great when he's playing but he always seems to resting in our playoffs.  Pretty much anybody who's playing trumps a guy who's hurt or getting healthy rest.

I'm not sure how this trade pans out for me since my team's been building toward more of a win-now direction and both Monroe and Parsons would've helped a lot with that, but that's the beauty of a no-money dynasty league - it's more fun to roll the dice with #1 so that's what I went for.  It'll be exciting to have a stud rookie to fret or gush over for once.

At a minimum this does help erase my dumb mistake of lucking into Clarkson in last year's draft then promptly dropping him so I could pick up Bojan Bogdanovich on waivers.

Picking up Bojan for Clarkson seems like Ainge/Morey level work considering I dropped him for Bassy Telfair in the points league  :P

FWIW, I learned that I'm still gonna be on daddy duty at 6:30 so i won't be *as* active as I normally am, but will at the very least pop in to get things rolling.

Hoping other GMs can be ubuntu in keeping the peace if there are any issues.

Wait. Are you telling me you didn't cook last night, take out trash, buy jewelry, and shoes so that you would specifically get out of daddy duty?  Oh Gains. Sometimes man....idk.

I like this trade for Bacon. Although Towns has the potential to be a much better RL player than Monroe, I don't see him being a better fantasy league player than Monroe by any means. Monroe is very productive and reliable, and most of all, proven.

Getting Parsons as a buy low imo is also a great move. Parson stock dropped a lot while he was out, but he's also highly productive , young, and one of the few decent players on the Mavs. He will get his looks and then some.

I'm also of the firm opinion that Clarkson's hype was due to being productive on a poor team. Good job selling high on him and still getting a 2016 #1 in the deal.

I dont understand or care why Donald Sloan is involved, but if it makes any of the two GMs in the deal happy then its cool. He will be on waivers early in the season anyways.

If anyone with a 6-12 or so 1st round pick is looking for a proven, very productive vet, Nikola Pekovic is available. He will be back healthy soon, and is a guaranteed double-double machine.

I couldn't get Bacon to take him out of the offer no matter how hard I tried, so in ya go  ;D

Being a vet PG on the Nets is a spot that could get some reps anyway, so who knows.  Anything he contributes is found money.
