Tonight he almost had another triple double.   He has been making clutch shots after clutch shots these days.

He is not a guy that can score 30 on any given night but is looking like a walking near triple double machine that can score clutch buckets.

If he was a FA next season, what would his contract look like??

Is he someone you want as your starting sf for the long term?

Ehh I wouldn't take it that far. His versatility is no doubt impressive but he's still weak defensively and his jumper isn't nearly consistent enough to say he's a starter on a title team

I think he is actually a very good on ball defender , Tommy even mentioned how impressive his defense has been this year .

I would take him if we couldn't get a better SF and he took a very modest contract.  That is notably up from my "absolutely not" feeling as recently as last week

If he was a 10-15 pick and he didn't suffer a huger fall-out last year, I think he would generally be looked upon more positively. No matter what he will never live up to a #2 draft choice, but is certainly showing that he can be an extremely versatile and effective player.

He tries hard and has some nice tools (7 ft wingspan) to get his man working hard

Not sure how he decided to come play for the Celts on a major discount but it has worked out for everyone.

He must be happy to be finally playing in the playoffs for once

He looks like he has short arms, imo, but when I looked for the official measurement, I got two different ones, with one being 6'8", and the other being 7'0".  I'd think that that difference would at least be more noticeable.  Perhaps this is a measure twice, cut once thing, haha.

Hey, Adrian Dantley had to wear a special shoe because one of his legs was longer than the other one, iirc.  I think Oden had similar issues, in addition to all of his other problems.  Sigh.

It was a no brainer signing in the summer and I was pumped when it happened. Getting a young former #2 on a short cheap deal is worth a gamble to me every time. Anyone who follows the NBA loves "upside". That's what signings like these are all about. He's not a superstar but he is useful.

He looks like someone who's playing hard and tries to play the game the right way, but the deficiencies are still there (no reliable outside shot, occasionally shaky decision-making, lack of a refined go-to offensive move; not great defensively).

Regardless, he's well worth keeping. I'd like him back after next season.
