I don’t think that anything is concrete but DeMarcus Cousins trade speculation has jumped considerably among Kings sources in last 24 hours.

George Karl said pregame that he hadn't spoken to DeMarcus Cousins yet since he was declared out for the season.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

Why would trade talk be occurring right now?
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

reflection on a bad season, draft is coming up in two months.

Personally I think they'd try and bring him in some help first. Rondo should be a cheaper option than they thought before. They've got some crap contracts though that they need to dump to fit new guys in.

i did not read it as trade talk happening right now. rather, it seems a general statement, without context or the reason, about whether or not karl would trade any player on the roster. he said that all players are tradable.

this is, to me, similar to those reports that say "ainge is possibly looking at player X." i am sure danny did, as any good GM would, look at player X at one time.

the only significance i see is that karl is at least is open about being openly open to moving cousins. no absolute denials. does it open discussions on a trade? we can only opine.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

It seems to me like Bruski was relaying the general understanding amongst Kings "sources" (inside execs? people close to them? players? who?) that Cousins is far from untouchable this offseason. People like to brush that off as meaningless politicking, but it's most certainly an admittance of Vivek entertaining the Kings sans Cousins. That's a big deal IMO.

It's not Stein breaking news that we're in talks with them. It's April and boredom is the Devil's workshop. That could mean Bruski is bored and wanted clicks, or that the Kings FO has had too much time to think and driven themselves crazy towards considering a Cousins deal. It's significant if the latter is true.

Well, I'd imagine SAC can probably convince him to give them another chance this year, but it's been readily apparent Cousins is getting awful frustrated with his current situation. They've just kept getting worse even as he's become so dominant. He has the juice to force his way out of there, and if they can't do something to get themselves in the playoffs, he's gonna want out. So strange over there, I like the Karl hiring, and then the Divac thing comes out of left field ...

In a related dream I had the other night, we traded Sully, our pick and the LAC pick for the Kings pick. Then, after drafting Johnson, Sully eats his way out of the rotation, Karl and Boogie try to kill each other and right before the 2016 draft we trade our BRK lottery pick, #7, our pick #18, our 2018 1st, whatever comes of the MIN picks, James Young who had a good season off our bench and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson who we picked with our 15' PHI 2nd for Cousins. Leaving our roster nearly in-tact while adding Cousins and Johnson while still having 2 BRK picks, the DAL pick in 16', and the MEM pick on top of most of ours and a 16' PHI 2nd!

Anything is possible, right?

Could OKC turn down Cousins, Rudy and 6th for KD, Waiters and Kanter (S&T)?
OKC=Westbrook, Morrow/Winslow, Gay, Ibaka, Cousins
SAC=Collison, McLemore, KD, Landry, Kanter.

SAC says no. KD bolts in a year, never mind his medical redflags.

Do not see them trading Durrant, their best player.

I'm pretty sure the Kings saw what the Wolves got for Kevin Love and are probably expecting a similar return. Especially with the Lakers and Knicks having a shot at the first pick.

I'm fairly sure you're right.  That said, wanting and actually receiving are two different things.  Time will tell.

On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if the Kings, always looking for a quick-fix, instead try to get established players.

but neither of them has anything to really offer with that pick.
