Why can't we just wait until Willie Cauley-Stein is drafted and then make a move a la Spurs getting Kawhi! You see, "6th overall pick" has much more value to it than Willie Cauley-Stein because of the variables involved with having such a high selection (i.e.- players falling, history of the pick etc.) as opposed to a raw offensive player who you know will give you some of the most impactful yet non-glamorous thing a top prospect can give you; defense. Now you should all keep in mind that the two teams most likely to draft WCS (Denver, Sacramento) both have young, promising centers that I believe the organizations are high on so, with the thought process that they don't need WCS but still drafted him as an asset (if they even comprehend the term or such a basic yet futuristic concept) they might value him less than what he actually is worth. So Danny can wait for them to draft him, offer them a player at a position they need or an asset they think they might desire (James Young and some picks anyone) and they might bite (especially Denver as they will come to realize they can wait on a promising prospect like Young and cash in on the pick we're giving them, while Sacramento will want a Win-Now option so if we can offer them Evan Turner, a ball handler they might think they need and a sign and trade with Brandon Bass with maybe a couple of second rounders or a deep first or such thrown in we would be in great position). I still don't understand why not more people are suggesting this option as the Spurs where able to confuse the Pacers by not trading for a pick and rather waiting for the player to be drafted, offering a player that fits one of their so-called positional needs and receiving a desired prospect without paying for the flexibility of the pick but for the desired player. And honestly, why would we want the 6th or 7th overall pick, the player we want is WCS not Kristaps Porzingis or Mario Hezonja or whatever, we only care about 1 player. Furthermore, trading for the pick would be incredibly problematic if a team ahead of us fancied WCS and so we would look like fools giving up Sully and some firsts for Edited. Trade for the player we want not the pick the player is PROJECTED to be taken at.
P.S.- On all the Stephenson bullEdited. Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.: YES! YES! YES! Brad Stevens has proven to make players want to give their all regardless of their reputation coming in, capitalize on Bradley's value (and Charlotte's desire for what he brings) by snagging a better player at 100% and their first rounder. EXCELLENT! I would have paid Lance 9 mil any day and I believe he is more than salvageable! Even through his DNPs he is a trooper and not complaining as much as he is reputed to. I love it especially since we can offer our #15 and Charlotte's #12 for WCS and snag a need and a potential beast 2-way player in Lance for the mid-range jump shooting, oft-overrated Bradley! AWESOME IDEA I Edited. Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ING LOVE IT SO MUCH I'M USING CAP AND I WON'T STOP!
