I would hate to see this kid used for trade bait. I don't think he has come close to his potential. in the last few games he has shown that he likes attacking the basket and looks real smooth doing it. I know right now it's probably better going with what got you there but if we make the playoffs I would love to see this kid get a lot more minutes.

at any rate I believe the Swede is a keeper. he has great instincts and just feels to me like a good fit as a Celtic.

I guess he is talking about Reb, I would agree about keeping him, if it's a good price tag. He is a solid guy to have. Another hustle player and I love those players. I don't agree that those types don't have skill, they just aren't stars... they are needed when going for a chip.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Ya, he works really well in Brad's system

I love this kid Jerebko! (In a tommy voice, of course!)

Question: Given the choice of one or the other, do we want good NBA players or players who fit well into CBS's system?

(Obviously, in a perfect world, we want both).
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Good players, no question.

This whole thing about "players who fit the system" is a bit silly, to me.  I agree that you want players that fit with each other, like you want some drivers, some shooters, some defenders, some rebounders, some passers, and hopefully some guys who can do more than one of those things well.

You get good talent, and a good balance of players who complement each other's games, they'll fit the "system" of any good coach.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

I think some team should offer Jerebko a starting gig this summer.

I think he is ready for a bigger role.

It's a tough question to answer though because it's not just one or the other.

But in a vacuum you'd want good players

I think we'll be able to find good players who fit the system as well

Good players. Can always fire the coach.

We want great players and good players and a great coach.  Not sure we have great players or a great coach yet, but I'm closer to seeing greatness in Stevens than our players.

As for JJ, he's 28 and been playing pro ball in Europe since 2005. I like him, but he is likely what he is.

Very hard to say because whose not to say that a player that fits well into CBS's system can't also be a good NBA player???
seriously though, Danny has come up with a bunch of players that are right in CBS's wheelhouse and you just hate to get rid of but you know you are going to have to move a few to get the top pieces you need.  I just think Jerebko is a kid they should try to push to his limit and keep a real good eye on before thinking about moving him.

maybe, but he is 28 years old. i dont think there is much more growth left in him. he has limited skills, but those skills are used well by CBS. put jerebko in a different system and he probably looks like the 8th to 9th player on a team, which he may very well be.

he is a nice complimentary player, but i dont see him leading a team or making a major difference.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I see him as a very good bench player to low end starter.

If he is happy being a role player, while also being happy getting paid a role player's wage....

Keep him in green baby!

Agreed.

I always scratch my head when people pose the question "well, so and so is okay BUT will he fit into what Stevens is trying to do?"

Pretty sure all Stevens is trying to do is put a winning team on the court like any other coach. It's not rocket science.

If there's a talent player on the market, grab him first then worry about whether he'll fit into the "system."
