This comment would have some merit if the team wasn't also decimated by injuries. Not that I like Spoelstra, but context matters.

That Heat team has been riddled with injuries all season. It's understandable that Wade's always at 75% but Deng, Whiteside, Anderson, Wade, Haslem have all missed over 10 games since the All Star break because of injuries.

You could argue that injuries to good players on opposing teams are the only reason we've had a sniff of the playoffs. Pacers, Heat, Nets even the Pistons. Sully went down for us, but we acquired IT.

Anyway, Spoe is a great coach. One of the best.

Aaron Brooks and Taj Gibson each scored 14 points for the Bulls, who were outscored 33-12 in the second quarter -- then went on a staggering 39-8 run to open the second half. Miami missed its first 12 shots after halftime, and the freefall never stopped.

Hassan Whiteside had 19 points and 16 rebounds for the Heat. Dwyane Wade scored nine points, shooting just 4 for 20. The Heat were outscored 57-27 after halftime.

We also traded our two best players, lost our third best player for over 20+ games, and lost KO, Smart, and IT for all around ten games apiece as well. I don't feel sorry for them, and I would argue that between our roster turnover and injuries, in addition to our much lower level of talent overall, our making of the playoffs is a much greater accomplishment and testament to Stevens than the Heat being where they are with Spoelstra.

Spo ....is probably a good dude .  But DWade plays street pick up ball......he is strong and dumb as a rock . He won't play many if any sets .....he plays pickup seat of the pants ball .   How do you coach guys who are to stupid and to mean to listen .  Whiteside is another .   

Love to see what guys like Rivers and Spobot could do with no stars and team like Celtics.

My guess is 20 wins max.

I agree about Spoelstra being a good coach, at least when it comes to the Xs and Os part of coaching.  during some of the post-game interviews in the playoffs over the last few years Spoelstra would start breaking down specific instances where games where one and lost, what mistakes were made, etc.  Dude did a great job of really talking high level basketball strategies and concepts.

Coaches, especially basketball coaches, can't control everything. Spolestra is a top 10 coach in the NBA. That team has been absolutely destroyed by injuries and Dragic has been pretty inconsistent in his time there. And they didn't come out and lay an egg, they were winning at the half by 19. One really bad half doesn't do away with 5 years of good work.
