I don't think OKC even has an offensive system for when Westbrook isn't in the game.

You can just tell how confused the players are.  It reminds me of a pick up game.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

If he isn't, then he's right up there, lol. ;D He's like a poor man's version of Doc, imo, in that all he ever says to his players is, "get stops and run." ::) Not once have I ever heard him talk about offense.  If OKC had a better coach, they might have at least one ring to show for it, because tactically, Brooks is completely lost, imo.

Mediocre coach carried by superstars. My dog could successfully coach a team with Westbrook and Durant on the roster. Same story for Spo, now that both have lost their superstars to FA/injury they're both being exposed for their lack of actual coaching ability.

His players like him, they play hard for him and they play defense for him.  Even the media is finally admitting that Brooks is running a high school offense.

Maybe now that Ty Corbin is out of a job.

One thing I'll say for Brooks is that he's created an environment in OKC that the players like.  And when your players include two superstars you want to keep from fleeing to bigger markets, that's important.  It would be really nice if that team could be healthy for an entire post-season.

Maybe, but just because I can't tell whether Byron Scott is the worst or he's just painting a tanking masterpiece.

The poll should have more choices. I vote for Derek Fisher. The guy seems quite incompetent.

No. There's worse coaches that easily come to mind like Byron Scott.

TP for you. Seriously if the 80's Big 3 had a more capable coach back then, they would have won more rings. Same way I feel about Doc and our former '08 Big 3. Would had like 20 championships total!

All current coaches either fired or still coaching once associated with the Lakers are complete and utter trash. Derek Fisher, Byron Scott, Brian Shaw, comical clowns. Brooks is the same as the Spo-bot in Miami: sub-par coaches masked by superstar tandem, though the latter has lost LeBron and is now exposed as a crook.

Spoelstra is a very good coach. He went to the Finals four times and won twice. This season has been unfair to him. He's had to make extreme adaptations to a roster that not only saw personnel turnover in the summer but throughout the year due to health (Wade, Deng and Bosh have all missed 15+ games) and opportunity (gotta trade for Dragic when you can). If healthy, I expect a starting five of Dragic, Wade, Deng, Bosh and Whiteside under Spoelstra to be a threat to any team next year.

I agree that Brooks is a terrible coach. He's controlled teams oozing talent for years now and hasn't won anything other than a Western Conference title thanks to having four Olympians on his squad.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
he's the worst coach of any playoff team, there is literally zero structure to their play on offense other than clear out one side, penetrate, and find Durant or Westbrook for an ISO.
He has some nice in bounds plays and their defensive approach is good. He should be fired soon but I guess Durant calls all the shots so he'll probably stay. I think Durant is realizing how crap he is though now watching from the sidelines for so long this season.

But the honor of worst coach in the league goes to....the one....the only....
Byron Scott.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
