Brad has done great thus far... He has surpassed what anyone of us would have imagined this season could be. He's an excellent coach, and yes I do believe he's a better coach (not at managing personalities like Doc), but X's & O's makes better.

The last few games I think Brad has not done too well with his coaching. Since the return of Isiah Thomas this team has not played too smoothly. I still feel Thomas recovery was rushed. Pressy was playing great, and as a coach with a very young team trying to make the playoffs he should've kept same players playing.

You could take a look back at every game since Thomas returned the mood of the game has changed when he checked in. Ball movement becomes stagnant, and for some reason we start looking at Isiah to be the leader of this team that plays better with no leader. I almost wanted to change the channel when Isiah checked in, because I knew the game we were winning was about to make a lopsided turn.

Isiah wasn't the only reason... Jerebko played great and then Brad subbed him out and that was the last I saw of him. Why bring in Bass when this man was doing well idk... The worst of the coaching was bringing in Jared 2nd half of the game??? I thought we were in a playoff hunt... bringing in a guy that hasn't played an nba game in many months was a horrible move. Brad coached poorly and Celtics lost a very important game they needed to win.

Putting a guy in there at a crucial point who has not played for a month or two and is ill suited for the style we have been playing was dumb.   Sully does not have Chemistry with the new guys.   Bringing him back was a knucklhead move.   I do not think it was CBS as he made some comments about Sully not going to change our defensive DNA, meaning that he thinks poorly of him as a defender.

Agreed. Stevens is learning fast, but last night was, in part, on him.

The Bucks are the better team, and I'd straight up trade their roster for ours--but Stevens and the C's could have had this one without the Sully error, better ref management, etc.

I'm going to agree with your assessment of IT and his use.
It's beginning to look like Thomas has bought in to the theory that he is the spark plug of the team. It looks like he's feeling totally responsible for how the offense functions when he's in the game. I mean, just him alone.

He was traded to a team that was sharing the ball. When he first arrived, he fit in very well, and with good success. The problem is, too much IT for long stretches will cause a stagnant offense, plus teams in the East have figured out the way to control him is make him defend, post him up or take the ball to the rim. There is a key to the proper use of IT that can make him a valuable member of the team. IMO it's bringing him in for shorter stints, more often. Use him as a spark at the end of close games, and not as the teams main answer. Unfortunately, to do this successfully we need better players that can score, defend, and share the ball.

I think Pressey getting minutes equates to bad coaching  >:(

Also the Jerebko-Bass substitution was incomprehensible.
Goal for next season: Top 2 seed.
Say goodbye to: Turner, Zeller, Sully.

So the conclusion of this thread is that the 3 reasons we lost were:

1.) Our coach, who is top 10 in the NBA

2.) A player who played a grand total of 2 and a half minutes in the third quarter

3.) A guy who had 23 points in 26 minutes on 7-12 shooting

Let me respond with:  ::)

I think it was Ainge activating Sully....Danny wants a better pick, so he brings Sully back during a crucial time---thus screwing with chemistry--and assuring us of a better pick.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

I think it's because Avery received the award prior to the game... or maybe the maid (from what I heard, she didn't clean properly the locker room). I'm torn... :P

What about Evan Turner and his atrocious turnovers at one point in the game? Especially when he lost the in-bound pass...  ???

Who cares?

If we don't make the playoffs, we are in the lottery.

Isaiah also had 5 turnovers (and most were due to sloppiness, not ball pressure) and continually got posted up and scored on (not due to a lack of effort-he's just vertically challenged) or forced the bigs to leave their men wide open. I don't believe his game was as good as the box score makes it look. Still love his aggressiveness and his ability to split defenses, though.

it wasnt just the turnovers - but those were part - we couldnt defend the bucks

they beat us from outside and on the drives at will - switching to the bigs didnt help at all - their team has so much size - we should have payed more attention to sending them to their offhands to lower the amount of easy shots - Gianis also played sooo good - they should have gotten him into foul trouble earlier

and did I mention that the bucks also defended very well? they forced a bunch of bad posession

all in all I think the bucks are a bad match up for the C's this season

one last point - I think one could easily see the presure the team put on themselfs - that didnt help their play in that game

putting that loss on BS is an error - he send Sully in to maybe stop their offence a little as the other guys couldnt - but he wasnt able to and instead took more of his stupid 3 balls early in the clock. its true that IT is changing the way the C's play on offence but to say that it became stagnent when he went in is also not true - it was stagnent even prior to that - the bucks D caused that

the team has to move on now - not all is lost yet - they have to win some of the next games and hope that eigther MIA order BKN lose. BKN looks strong atm but they have good teams to face
