No reason to fire Stevens. I just hope the Lakers don't get their hands on Thibs.

Then give some of the kids the boot and acquire more veteran players.

Thibs can attract Luol Deng and Paul Pierce so our 3 spot will be set. Nate Robinson can be our big scorer off the bench. Make the 4 spot a training camp battle between Sully and newly acquired Boozer. Then throw money at Marc Gasol and Rondo and pry them here too.

I'm really, really praying that your being sarcastic and I just don't see it... I would probably just stop watching if they did some shiznit like that.

Why not? Coach Thibs is notoriously known to be a tough coach in the sense that he gasses his players to the ground. His style of coaching will tire out the Lakers' roster and have them unable to make deep playoff runs. That, to me, is huge WIN!

Thibs' player development is close to unmatched. The Bulls have been a consistently elite defensive team thanks to him. He would be big for the Lakers, even with his flaws.

Well I see that title and think GOOD.  I'm sure Thibs will get another job but then with him gone and rose shot…maybe we get noah as our starting center.

Fire Stevens?  That's crazy talk.  And Thibs could give a crap for kids.  He's a vet coach.

yea, I agree with this

I love Tibs but he's more of a veteran's coach. I would love to have Tibs back but I think Stevens fits this team better currently. He is building a young team and is growing with the team

I was thinking the same thing, and the second worst would be them to the Cavs. Could you imagine that team with a smothering D, a la Thibs. That would be scary.

The positive about him leaving Chicago is that then maybe Crowder can be more effective at luring his Marquette buddy, Butler, here.

He's not coming here in anyway. I think he'd work well in Indy or Washington. Maybe an assistant to Doc or Kerr.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

I don't think Jimmy Butler would agree with this.  Nikola Mirotic has had no trouble getting minutes as a rookie.  Tony Snell has earned a spot in the rotation in his second year.  He's not any different than any NBA coach who's primarily evaluated on wins and losses.  He prefers players who's ability is known (vets) to ones who's ability is unknown (young guys).  Rare is the coach who's in the position that wins and losses don't matter.

Thibs does have a problem with running his guys into the ground.  That is unquestionable.  But vet preference?  As James Young should indicate, some guys just aren't ready for the NBA, and once their team chooses winning over development, they get to learn from the bench.

At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

No need to change the coach at this point.

Yeah right...that's what we need a new coach and a new system.

great point. Yea I'm not a fan of running players to the ground. Just a question, do you think Doc contributed to rushing KG back in 2009?

Or maybe Stevens decides he wants to go back to college and then the Celts bring Thibs in.

And then maybe Thibs can bring Jimmy Butler with him.

If Coach decided he wanted to return to college ball, then I'd be ok with Thibodeau being hired as his replacement.

However, it's my desire that Coach stays with the Celtics...the entire length of his current contract...and hopefully by then we will see that we have one of the best coaches in the league.  His sophomore season is already improved over his rookie season...and I believe the best is yet to come.

No knock to Thibs or anybody who would replace Coach with him...just my opinion that we've got a good Coach who is only going to get better.

And by the way, while we're talking about Stevens, I don't like how he criticized Marcus Smart.

I have no problem with what Smart did and Stevens didn't need to put on his Mr. Rogers routine and say the play was "unacceptable."
Well, as long as YOU don't have a problem with what Smart did!
