after viewing the marcus incident i sincerly believe that his arm was clipped and in recovering and getting over top hit the defensive player a low blow-smart is known for hard nosed defense and well respected for his determination -he should not be penalized for this event--shame to see his defense in future suffer from this-morepeople should e mail nba

Yeah, because the league knows that fans are a good source for analysis of foul calls.

Coach Stevens disagrees based on his post game comments and he had a pretty good view of it.

marcus may be guilty of reckless abdonment in his style  but that was not a thought out situation, bonner just happened to be setting screen and it seemed marcus was only focused on the offensive player-i ran into picks with elbows and knees shoulders being skinny and angular,i wanted the setter to not enjoy or to even shy away from setting screens-ivve seen smart bully and intimidate and use all sort of tricks so i am not naive but i believe this was a result of his hand being clipped back and the recovery-i played against cousy, a all star exhibition, i think sponsored by hood milk and scored on him, i was a senior in high school the next time cousy gave me a elbow to kidney-after the game was over i was admitted for blood in my urine-a pro move-you don't embarrass a pro- 5 days complete bed rest at mount auborn hospital in cambridge-did he intend for that to happen, no -just a refex reaction in heat of game-but a great story and still have my picture taken with him after the game-

he was open handed and it was the back of hand-on another replay that didn't have angle it looked like a punch-

Yup........that above  angle first was highly incriminating .  It didn't fully expose the play from court level

The other court looking straight at the play ,   I'm convinced it was an mostly an accident .

Both men were bracing for contact .  Marcus arm swung up push of the impact , the back of his hand made ....SOME contact below the belt ......but clearly not the amount he's getting blamed for.

Bonner blocked most of the impact and I don't think he was hurt much .

Watch the video of K Love kicking Griffin in the nads ......Griffin is tuff as they come ......he dropped down like rock and it took him a while to shake it off .

Their closing speed was tremendous ....I think his intention was to push , Bonner away hard to the mid section, Bonner is taller and the blow was lower because Bonner is very tall.

The whole thing was stupidly blown out of proportion before other views could be seen.

The officials had to make a call ...right then .....they could not take a day to,study and talk about it.....so I'm alright .....a call was made.....maybe to harsh now on second look.

I think it was a foul,  a flagrant 1 would have been fine. Now that I've seen the other replay.

He was just fighting though a pick that went wrong .....Bonner was not hurt , he is a Wiley old vet who knows how to play the system, didn't even double over ,  I think Bonner PLAYEd it up too....once he saw the refs were on his side and the Spurs were at home.

I don't believe he meant to AIM for his junk .  It was just a accidentally a bit of a low blow.

Yeah I agree.  Smart definitely didn't intend to hit the side of his inner thigh... The intention was to punch his balls clean off.  He messed up.

lots of humor, but this play could be critical-to season and inhibit smarts defense as refs might come down on him-he needs to be able to play physical-when will nba rule on this-

It was intentional, deal with it. I'd give him 4-6 games.
It's nice seeing him get exposed as overrated after having argued with fellow fans for years that he was overrated.. but I don't hate him. I'm looking forward to seeing him [...] bounce around to a couple more teams... eventually come back to Boston[...] and helps us as a role player until he runs himself out of the league.

1. I doubt the league cares what the fans think once they review it. 2. If he gets a suspension it's not the end of the world..it's really not  ;D

if I send an email it will be to suspend him for at least two games. There is no place in the league for play like that.
