Please no.

I would love us play against the Hawks.

If we give the top seed fits 4-2, or 4-3, it'll at least make us look more enticing to free agents.

I honestly think our team matches up well with Hawks, in terms of the Hawks missing a lot of their rotational big men on the bench, and the fact they lack a go to guy or superstar that can really score whenever he want.

The Hawks are more of a shooting/perimeter team, and their weakness? We got 'em in Smart and Bradley!

It's just a matter of how they will utilize Al Horford and Paul Millsap.

Yeah but if we get the 6 seed, we play the weaker Raptors, then get to play the Hawks in round 2.  The Hawks will almost certainly beat us if we get that far, but we will have a shot to take a game or two.  That will look better than losing 4-2 in the first round as an 8 seed.

I was thinking about this also. The Bucks have been struggling since that trade.

an overachieving squad that EVERYONE wrote off, knocking off a #1 seed will definitely make a good story and a reason for free agents to come. Also shows how good of a coach Stevens is. Get him some REAL talent and see him go to work

I think a good playoff could Entice Kris Middleton maybe Jimmy Butler to come here. Kawhi Leonard  and Draymond Green will stay in there winning situation. Hopefully The bulls will lose Thibs and Butler will come to us.

I don't know Middleton well.  If he were to end up here, would the plan be to put him at the 3?

If the Celts do make the playoffs, I would love for them to get in with either the 6th seed or 8th seed as I think they'd match up well with Atlanta or Toronto.

I am not so sure about Chicago as they have size and shooting.

I do NOT want to get in with the 7th seed as I want no part of Cleveland.

I don't see us knocking off the #1 seed...  Atlanta is too good for us to take 4 games in a 7 game series.

Gotta remember that we are overachieving here.  It's good that we are winning, but to be unbiased, I don't believe we have the talent to take a 7 game series against a real contender.

Sixth seed would be great IMO it would give us a chance. I'm not sure we are going to make the playoffs at this point but it is fun.

One of the great things about the internet is that it gives anyone a platform to air their views.  Speculating about that sixth seed is a heck of a lot of fun.

We're just not going to get it.  Time is working against us.  Milwaukee has 14 games left, among which they play Brooklyn twice, Orlando, the Knicks and Philadelphia.  They've been playing terribly, but not that terribly that they will lose more than eight or nine of their last 14.  Regression to the mean is their friend.  Miami also has 15 left.  Put Denver, 2xDetroit, Orlando, Philly and Milwaukee (since we didn't count on Milwaukee beating Miami above) in, as well.  Of the two, Milwaukee will be tougher to pass, so let's use them as our base.

Assuming that Milwaukee only wins the games above and goes 5-9 for the rest of the season, they'll finish 39-43.  We would have to go 9-6 for the rest of the season to tie.  Two of those wins would have to be our games against Milwaukee, since we would then be 2-1 on the season against them, having lost our first head-to-head.  Our schedule between now and then is evil.  Sure, we have Brooklyn, Miami and the Knicks coming up, but after that, we've got the Clippers, Toronto (twice) and Cleveland (twice).  And that's not counting tonight's game against San Antonio.  Maybe Cleveland will be in a position to rest some starters in one of the games, but nobody else will be.

Right now, I'm rooting for an 8-seed.  But it's a heck of a lot of fun to speculate, isn't it?

#7 at most.  if there was another 10-15 games in the year with the way they're playing I'd say there's a fair chance of catching the Bucks but with about 16 games to go, 3 games can be difficult ground to make up.
