This past few games made me realize that not all of the players on expiring contracts need to go as long as they are not overpaid or would be needed in some sign and trade.

Bass- Reliable vet, been around this team for awhile
Jerebko- Stretch 4 off the bench, a more athletic Sully
Datome- A scoring sg/sf off the bench, can hustle and get blocks
Crowder- Solid 3+D guy off the bench.

I think a case can be made for any of them to come back and I wanted to see what CB thought. I would like Bass just to have a guy here from the big 3 years but we have a PF log jam so I'd pick Jerebko or Datome as scorers off the bench behind Turner.

This isn't a poll on most likely to return, just if you had to pick one who would you want back here.

The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Jerebko is more like a seasoned version of Olynyk than he is like Sully. Sully would compliment these guys perfectly if he did what he's good at and kept scoring the ball down low. Jerebko is an interesting situation though. With Sully, KO, Bass, Crowder and himself there's quite a logjam of guys who can get PF minutes. I really like his game and he's clearly enjoying his time here, but I'd rather keep Bass for 3 or 4 years than Jonas.

Datome is becoming an instant fan favorite, and he fits well into this teams tenacious style, but he should prob be a casualty of getting someone better.

Crowder is a must keep for me. I think he has a lot more to do with what's happening here than he gets credit for. If there's one guy that exemplifies what kind of player we want here, it's him. And considering how he's only 24, you gotta keep him around more than anyone .

If we can simply acquire more talent this off season, regardless of how we should be in good shape, I mean, this team is an above 500 team now. Danny just has to get us some more talent, and that genius of a coach he got us is gonna to bring us back to contention.

At this point, keep them all and trade KO, Sully, Wallace, and all the draft picks this year for an upgrade. Maybe Cleveland would sign and trade Love for that package.

Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Bass for sure - with KO or Sully moving on. I like both of these guys, but we need to choose one and get the best return possible for the other. Crowder would also be nice on cheap contract - still not sure what kind of money he will get. I keep hoping other teams aren't noticing what he can offer and he will sign with us for the vet minimum (hey, it's possible :0)

Remember when we couldn't wait to release Brandon Bass or trade him for nothing?

Crowder is both the most important to keep and the player cheapest to keep. Jarebko has been coming down to earth after a very hot start, i would like to see him back at the right price, and more importantly for the right number of guaranteed years. Datome to me is a vet minimum type player, not worth more then the bi-annual exception. Bass is a solid rotation player but without a real 3 point shot he limits you some offensively, hes also a weak team defender. i would still like him back and depending on who we draft and if we move KO (Sullinger has tanked his trade value so i dont see him being moved) i would be willing to go over the non tax player mid level. a 3 year deal with team option(s) or non guaranteed over the last year(s) would be my preference.

Sully is one of our best players. He has 1 year to get in shape if he wants good contract offer's. I give him 1 more year and then make a decision if he stays or goes.

I mean, the obvious answer is Crowder, because he will be back unless he gets a ridiculous offer.  He's a restricted free agent, and until he signs a new contract, he'll count less than $1.2 million against the cap.  So he can be resigned  and not get in the way of any other plans offseason plans.

Datome is also relatively cheap and is also restricted, but he's more expensive than Crowder in terms of his QO and cap hold, and his cap hold is probably higher than he'll get in free agency unless he shows even more the next month or so.  So he might come back, but I don't see him given a QO, and it won't be decided until after the Celtics look for other free agents.

Accordingly I'll pick Bass, because he's been here the longest and fills his role well.  Jerebko is nice, but he's somewhat duplicative with KO.  So I'll say Bass, for the right money (which is in the $4 million range).

I completely disagree with the bolded.  He's one of our best frontcourt defenders in terms of team defense.  He's not a Serge Ibaka weakside blocker, but that doesn't mean he plays weak team defense.

I see Crowder is a core piece of the team going forward.  The guy brings it every night defensively, makes good decisions on court and can knock down the 3.  Jerebko is 28 so I don't think there will be a huge market for him.  Even when he hasn't shot the ball well (as in recently) his size, hustle and athleticism make him a solid rotation player.  Gigi i think you'll be able to get for the veteran minimum.  Brad seems like anyone who can shoot, so he may well stick around.

Bass is an interesting topic.  He's got his shortcomings, but he also brings a lot of positives.  Turns out the Big Baby trade worked out pretty well.  I would try to upgrade him, but if things don't fall the right way I'd consider bringing him back.  I'd like more length in his position though.

the more of those guys we sign, the less cap space we have for a max deal.

Never understood the lack of respect for what Bass brings to the table.

Respect him, but hes supposed to be on a contender... Lets be honest, the majority of our team is youngish players. Bass doesn't fit the mold.

Bring back Gigi/Jerebko in hopes of trade value, and Crowder definitely should be resigned as long as contract is right.
