Doc, with his championship pedigree and reputation as a player's coach, was brought in by the Clippers to guide the team to the heights of NBA glory. The Clippers are built to win NOW. Superstars Chris Paul and Blake Griffin (plus DeAndre Jordan) still have to reach their peaks as players so they are indeed in a position to contend for several years. The team also has a really good cast of supporting players but are playing in a stacked Western Conference with many legitimate contenders.

Brad, with a great basketball mind but minimal NBA experience, is at the helm of a rebuilding Boston Celtics team with young but good to borderline-star players.  But the team is still lacking one or two legitimate superstars who can be relied on to deliver the goods on a regular basis. However, the Celtics have positioned themselves both financially and asset/draft-wise within the next 2-3 years to be able to bring in more talent. Brad's NBA learning curve has taken a steep climb. And the Celtics are playing in a "weaker" Eastern Conference, giving them a better chance to make it out on top of the Conference in the near future.

I'd have to say Brad, but that's just because I think Doc will resign in probably 2 or 3 years.

Doc is a better coach with a better resume.  And he has a team with actual talent.

Too much strength in the West.

NO chance for Doc. Not a deep team.

I think Doc has no chance in winning with this Clippers team. First they have too much money invested between Paul and Griffin to the point that they're stunted on ways they can improve the team. Next free-agency is critical for them. They need to be able to retain talent because they have very little margin for error.

They have to go all out to retain DeAndre Jordan else they're pretty much screwed.

The main problem in all of this is health, they're simply not a healthy team with too much talent concentrated in a few players, so they're paper thin.

Paul and Griffin are going to keep battling injuries and it'll make it very difficult for the Clippers to succeed in the talented Western Conference.

But next free-agency is going to be the make or break moment for them, if they can't retain talent they're going to be in a very bad position, at least until there's a big jump in Salary Cap.

They have traded away A LOT of their future draft picks as well.

Not very fair to Brad...

Doc has like twenty years experience and CP3 and other stars ....Doc is chicken to hurt his image with crappy , bench players ......that would require effort on his part to coach.

Brad an't got squat .....his best player is 5'9".....

Now .....if you wanted to make it interesting

Make Brad and Doc switch teams and see what happens ?

CP3 isn't getting any younger,   If it's going yo happen for Glen , it needs to happen in the next 1-3 years .....or CP3 will leave for Laker down the hall

One team has stars in place, one does not.

If one wins soon, it will be the Clippers.

It's unclear to me why we're trying to measure ourselves to Doc and the Clips.

Probably the same reason Rondo and Ray get brought up constantly -- because some fans have a serious hangup on those three former Celtic employees.

The 2008 championship squad was a roster with Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, James Posey, Rajon Rondo, Kendrick Perkins, Eddie House, Tony Allen, Sam Cassell, Leon Powe, P.J. Brown, Big Baby Davis, and garbage time man, Brian Scalabrine.

All of the above were healthy, and thus, every position was deep. They were stacked. This was the best team that year (and 66 wins kinda makes it obvious), if Doc couldn't win with them, who else could he win with?

I'd say that you could pick a random coach in the NBA and he'd also win a title with this crew.

If Doc was coaching the last two games I doubt we win even one of them, let alone both.
