We're gonna win #18 this year guys.

We, the eventual #8-seeded Boston Celtics, will be the first team in NBA history (?) to beat the #1-seeded Golden State Warriors...in 6 games with confetti falling all over in the TD Garden.

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D 8) 8) 8)

What a ridiculous thing to say.

The game six win would be @ Golden State....so no confetti :)

You forgetting that the NBA Finals format is 2-2-1-1-1 again!

That means...yes, we should win Games 2, 3, 4, and 6  ;D ;D ;D

I'll take irrational optimism over irrational pessimism any day.  TP to OP!

...I hope we make the playoffs, I hope we compete, but even one series win is not very likely.
if we get in you seriously think we wouldn't win a game? Come on man I think if we were in its mean we were gelling pretty good. I say we could win at least 2 and you never know what could happen.

In a most bizarre playoffs , the Cs end up sweeping the Mavs in the finals, sparking the beginning an epic feud-rivalry between Rondo and Bradley.

Someone on this forum predicted that the Celtics would beat the Hawks in the first round as their prediction. My belief is that the Celtics will play in the Eastern Conference Finals this season.  They will beat the Hawks then the Bulls and will lose to the Cavs in 6.

Brad Stevens ability to adapt his style of play to get the most out of his players is remarkable.  His second half adjustments are better than any other coach in the NBA.  Stevens is the Bill Belichick of the NBA and I was completely wrong about him and this team at the start of the season when I was calling for them to tank.  I am glad I have watched every game and really enjoy this team.
Let's first win Indy tonight.

If this team get 30 wins is dang near a miracle in my book . ........I'm flabbergasted

At the beginning I was thinking 21 wins .maybe 24 ....then subtract Rondo and Green .....my confidence dropped through the floor.  I was seeing 3-4 pick in lottery .

Green and Rondo suck.

I predicted 35 wins, and it looks like we will make it.

That was my prediction, 35 wins. Actually I have a small wager on it. It looks a heck on a lot better than it did when we had Green and Rondo.

Remember all the wailing and gnashing of teeth when we traded Rondo?

What a great trade that was.

Series win, not game win.  We likely won't win one series, let alone 2 like the OP says.  I don't think we'd get swept but it's certainly possible the way the Hawks and Cavs are playing (we have a chance at both the 7+8 seed).

make playoffs, win one series (as long as they dont face the Cavs)
I think they can get all the way to the 6th seed

I think its going to take 38 wins for them to make the playoffs, which means they would have to go 9-8 to finish the season.  Its quite possible they can do it, but its gonna be tough.

Cs are 7-3 in their last 10 games. They're much better now than their overall record indicates, and as Olynyk and Thomas return from injuries, and as this crew gets more court time (and Ws) together, I think they only get better as the season moves forward. I think they will go 11-6 the rest of the way, win 40 games and snag the sixth seed. (Milwaukee is not THAT far ahead of the pack, and they appear to be slipping after the Knight trade.) The Cs will probably lose:

3/20 SAS
3/29 LAC
4/4 TOR
4/10 CLE

and then lose a couple more random games. 12-5 is not out of the question, though, which would put them at .500. Don't count it out, these guys are a solid bunch of players and their schedule is not all that daunting.

IF we make the playoffs, we will get swept by the hawks.  However, we will lose one game by less than 30.

Brad Stevens will be offered the Indiana coaching position this summer and we hire a real coach.
