Does anyone else think this makes sense? Love is unhappy being a jumpshooter in Cleveland. Jordan repeats too many things that Blake does, which is eat up space in the middle. Both teams have had chemistry issues incorporating the two stars and both are free agents this summer.

Love has always wanted to go back to LA only the Lakers are pretty horrible and he wouldn't want to be "the man" on a bad team like he was in Minnesota. This way he gets to play in LA on a good team with two other stars.

Jordan is restricted so he doesn't have as much freedom to pick where he goes if it's not LA. They can convince him to go to Cleveland and play with LeBron and still receive the 5-year max extension. Or, they could both do the one-year on their new teams and see how it goes.

I think this could work, though Jordan could complicate things by being restricted but deciding he wants to do a one-year deal in order to cash in in 2016. Not sure how that would affect negotiations. If one of the teams wins the title it could also convince them to keep things the same.

I think Griffin and Love more like it.     Jordan and Love would work better together.

I thought about that and I probably agree. However, I just can't see the Clippers dealing Griffin due to his marketability. Yes, Doc is making the decisions but I have to think he would still have to get permission from ownership on a major deal like this.

I hate the defense of a Love / Griffin combination.  Similarly, I hate the offense of Jordan / Mozgov.

I think both teams are probably best off standing pat.  Having a stretch-4 helps Lebron on offense, and Mozgov is a good defender in the middle for Cleveland.  Having Jordan play defense and grab rebounds allows Blake to expend a little more energy on offense.

You're right, though the idea was based on the suspicion Love is not happy in Cleveland. If that is the case, why not see if he'll cooperate in a trade as opposed to him leaving for nothing? Of course this is the ultimate game of chicken - Love threatening to go to some bad team with lots of cap space like the Lakers and the Cavaliers daring him to do so.

I do think that LeBron could shift to PF next to Jordan at C.

I'm with Roy.

I don't think LeBron really wants to play the 4 any more than he has to. He's got the body for it, but he doesn't seem to enjoy the physicality of going up against guys like David West compared to playing on the wing.

I don't think Love will leave.  He's been unhappy with his role, but that will adjust over time.

Lebron is definitely capable of playing PF, although I think he's said that he doesn't like playing the position full-time during the regular season.  Too much wear and tear on defense.

LeBron has shown he'll have one of the best offenses in the league if given a stretch 4. Love is wildly overqualified to be reduced to that role, but I wouldn't trade him without getting a functional replacement.

Jordan would just crap LeBron's space and they'd still need to replace Love's shooting.

I think Love is going to think long and hard about leaving, I can easily see him compromise and finish on a one year deal in Cleveland similar to LeBron.

Love and Griffin are a terrbile match on D. Neither can effectively guard the 3 or the 4.

What Lebron needs is a stretch 4 who can defend the 5. Bosh was perfect because his length allowed him to play the 5 in a small ball lineup. Lebron at the 4 with shooters at every other position on the court is nearly impossible to defend.

A Love/Griffin frontcourt would be a monster offensively, but godawful defensively.

Here's an idea

How about the Celtics sign Kevin Love this summer?

I think this would be terrible for both teams.

Love alongside Griffin is an awful pairing. Both are offensive minded PFs. I don't see how that pairing helps the Clippers. For the Cavs I guess Jordan could play alongside Lebron at PF? Otherwise hes playing alongside Mozgov which again is a terrible pairing.

Love next to Jordan or Griffin next to James and Mozgov would be a much better swap.
