  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
I would be very happy with Turner. I think he has a lot of potential being so long and so skilled. The problem is I don't think he will be ready to contribute for at least a couple years. RHJ is an elite athlete, he needs to learn to shoot but his athleticism he has a very high ceiling.

Not sure what Goodman is thinking with the WCS to Detroit pick. Van Gundy has said they need to get a young wing and shooting, that they would pass up one for a guy who  replicates the skill set of their best player is ridiculous. Booker, Oubre and Looney all would be better fits.

Quote
Drummond has the ability to step out on the offensive end, while Cauley-Stein is limited offensively.

Drummond has the ability to step out on the offensive end? He has taken 13 shots deeper than 10 feet and shot 15% on those shots.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Yeah, I didn't understand where he was going with that either.

I guess the question is would you prefer the C's take Oubre/Winslow and Dakari Johnson as their 2 picks instead based on where he has those players slotted now.

if Danny ends up with the 2 guys projected here, I'd be on the fence about Turner but would trust Danny to have done his homework on Turner's work ethic and ability to play center for us.  kid has talent but will he make the most of it?

A lot of people think Oubre has star written all over him, but I'm not as sure. I don't know much about D. Johnson, but I've heard he has some good potential as a defensive big.

Here's Goodman's top 5 prediction six days before the draft last June.

http://forums.celticsblog.com/index.php?topic=71659.0

1. Cavs- Parker (more ready to play/win now than Wiggins)
2. Bucks- Wiggins
3. Sixers - Vonleh (doesn't like the way Exum would look with MCW)
4. Magic- Exum
5. Jazz- Randle

On top of that, he had Embiid dropping to tenth.

I see Chad Ford hasn't taught him how to scrub message boards..

I don't think Celtics take Turner.  He looks like he will get injured. He def runs strange

I rather draft Kaminsky

I like Kaminsky too, but isn't he redundant to Olynyk—a stretch 7-footer?
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.

"2 Jahlil Okafor Philadelphia 76ers COLLEGE: Duke HT: 6-11 WT: 275 POS: C
19.9 percent chance to win lottery
Analysis: Yes, I know that the Sixers already have a pair of big men in Joel Embiid and Nerlens Noel. However, Philly general manager Sam Hinkie loves accumulating assets, and he can either keep Okafor or try to field offers for the pick. Okafor can easily play alongside the more skilled Embiid if that's the route Hinkie opts to take."

This drives me crazy.  Okafor's athleticism is suspect, so if you want to give Embiid the edge there, that's okay.  But Embiid is "more skilled"?  Based on what?  His inferior production in college?  His warm up between-the-legs dunk?

I'd be cool with Turner.  Good potential.

He's number 3 on the Pelton Statistical Big Board...imagine 2.8 blocks at only 23 minutes per game!!

Kaminski is a great player and a better prospect than Olynyk I just think it's the most lateral pick we could make.

I hope to God we don't draft RHJ. If you want a D only wing, the D League is full of them. You could probably even get one as an undrafted rookie. Unskilled but athletic perimeter players are a dime a dozen and they don't provide what this team is lacking. I'm ok with a one dimensional defender if he is a post player.

Agreed, if we wanted a player like that rumor has it that we could have had Maurice Harkless for a bag of balls this trade deadline. Would rather have someone like that Lanky PF on UNLV or a Jake Laymon here personally.

Also no mention of my boy Rashad Vaughn, keep sleeping Mr. Goodman.

Sorry for the 3rd post in a row but this is the question that's kept me up at night. By when we pick, the best bigs might be off the board so it might be better to take one of the elite wings by rules of BPA.

Oubre was supposed to be a top 3-7 pick. Justise Winslow is a luxury that a player this good would be available so late in the top ten. Personally think the drop off from WCS to Dakari Johnson might be less than Winslow or Oubre to RHJ.

That being said also mirror your sentiments on Myles Turner. He has alot of Red Flags but that shooting ability could make him the best for CBS after Towns in the entire draft, if Danny is comfortable picking him I'd be all for that selection.

well that just shot his credibility all to hell.
anyone with a clue had to know that there was no way the C's wouldn't have snapped him up at 6 or, if Danny had a stroke and passed on him, Lakers would have snapped him up at 7

I'm a firm believe in taking BPA over positional needs unless you have equivalent talents where one happens to be at a position of need.  I would think that at pick 10 or so, if the options are Oubre, Winslow or Turner, it would be a tough call for BPA at the moment.  Oubre probably gets the nod but we've yet to see the tournament and the combine.

I think you may be right that the talent gap between Oubre and a SF available in the 20's is bigger than say WCS/Turner and Dakari.  Dakari may be better served to go back for another year and develop into a top 5 pick for 2016.
