When Turner shoots, he figures it's not going in. Right?

Marcus still cant drive.....he gets in the paint and kicks it out everytime.

Isn't that still driving? If you mean he can't hardly score in the pain, I agree. His short game has been terrible this year. He really needs to develop a floater and finish in contact better given his size.

No actually,

getting in the paint is one thing, but driving to the hoops is another, hes too scared to do that, he doesnt even put up a floater or jump shot, he kicks it out for 20 footers.

Meh,  semantics.   What you described is still a drive.

It's a bit concerning, sure.  Clearly lacks an explosive first step.  But I'd be a lot more discouraged if he was further along his development and he still had this much trouble going to the rim.

He plays tentatively on the offensive end.  Thinks too much.  Capable of making good passes but not particularly effective running the pick and roll.

I think he'll be much more effective with more experience - maybe not a great finisher at the rim, but he'll learn to use his body much better and draw contact to get to the free throw line.

I'd really like to rid ourselves of Turner.  Doesn't fit well alongside Smart or IT.

Explosive first step isn't required to be decent at driving.   Driving is more about shakes and mis-direction.
