I would love to see James Young silence some of the critics and step up. Not expecting a 20 point game from the kid but atleast knock down those open trey balls that we know he's capable to hit. I think this kid is great talent/project however you wanna call it but at 18 years old and a stroke like he has?! Just wait until he gets comfortable in this league and builds some confidence. Even if it's next year or the year after in excited about his development.... Let's talk about his defensive liability another thread shall we

We can't keep sending him down to slaughter the d league anymore...imoBut I do believe by next year his defense will be far better. Stevens will make sure of that. BTW I really like how Brad hasn't given anything to Young. James knows that defense is what he needs to improve on if he ever wants to play. I applaud Stevens for that.
Got a feeling it's going to be IT, MS, JC, BB and Zeller, but I would like to see Jimmy at the 2 with the first unit and a 2nd unit of IT, ET, Gigi, KO and JJ.
I worry less about his shooting than the likelihood the guy he's guarding will torch him for a career high.
It'll be Crowder starting and Turner moving to the backcourt. Not sure why this is even a question.

Just like he made sure Sullinger will show up in top shape this season. Some things are out of the control of external factors. Also, I don't understand the notion that Young hasn't been given anything. He appears to be playing 11 more NBA minutes per game than he's earned.

But I do believe he will be there for Young or help guide him in the best way possible. As for Young not earning NBA minutes....well that's your opinion, but someone who is shooting 52% from 3(NBA 3 not college) on almost 10 attempts per game and averaging 24 in 32mpg..well that's deserving in my book.Let us also mention 6'7'', 7' wingspan, 8'8'' standing reach (same wingspan and standing reach as our starting center, Tyler Zeller) and ya I think I'd like to give him some minutes. Many good to great players have struggled at young ages. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/James-Young-6462/Anyways I think Stevens knows what he is doing.

Young 's max vertical jump is a couple of inches higher and his max vertical reach was an inch higher too, though I see Zeller squeezed a couple more inches out of his max no step vertical reach.
