How quickly people forget about January 2014 and just that whole season in general.

There's an argument to be made between the two performances, and which side you fall on largely seems to depend on how moist you get over true shooting percentages.

Speaking more so from the perspective of how Durant balanced his incredible offensive display with amazing defense, allowing him to win close games that Westbrook has been coming up short in at times during this run. Yes, despite some silly notions, Durant was a great defender last year.

They're both easily top 5 players, but Durant's still ahead of Westbrook.

'some amazing defense' compared to his usual mediocrity, perhaps.  ;D

I actually agree with you, but I also believe that Westbrook will end up as more of a historical outlier than KD, for whatever that's worth.

True, however a historical outlier with less wins than what KD did. Any top player (Lebron, Davis, Durant) can have a historical outlier but more likely not help their team obtain more wins.

Durant played 16 games to Westbrook's 12, though.

If you really think about it, if it weren't for a stuborn Gm Okc could now have 3 of the top 5 players in the league.
Thinking of a line-up with Westbrook Harden and Durant jusy seems unreel  :o

And team record, because the Thunder without Westbrook looked better, and performed better against teams above .500, then this Thunder without Durant.

Already addressed W/L, and "looks better" is aesthetic as hell.

Durant without Westbrook last season 24-11
Westbrook without Durant this season 12-9
So if westbrook plays the same amount without durant which is 14 more games, you are expecting OKC to go 12-2 when they just went 12-9.

Do you honestly think that Westbrook would obtain more wins or even close to the amount durant did if he plays the same amount without durant? Read my post on page 2 and let me know what you think.

Harden likely wouldn't be a top 5 player had he stayed in OKC. And the Harden trade had less to do with a stubborn GM and more to do with cheap ownership.

I'm comparing Westbrook's February (2015) and Durant's January (2014). Sorry if that wasn't clear.

As to your post, I think Curry wins the MVP race this year.

Yeah I didn't know you were comparing months. I am comparing the season and I think we can all agree OKC was a more successful team without westbrook than OKC without Durant. (No way I am saying OKC is better without westbrook).

If Curry wins I would have no problem with that. I just think imo with the players Harden has around him, he has been more important to his team.

Yes, I recall there were a few who blasted me for wanting to deal Rondo for Westbrook.

They should have blasted you for thinking that would have got it done.
