Isn't this just a "version" of mediocrity "hell"?

Knicks get Okafor and the Celtics are just such a "good" lower tier team we get Olynyk and Smart.

This draft jag is for the birds. Hey let's get Phil Jackson and the NY market the best player in the draft. Why not just give them the best player and skip the formalities?

Isiah Thomas never got the Knicks nothing in the post season, nothing ever. So now big Phil is here, they get rewarded for putting Melo on IR.

Thus, the only way to compete with 76'ers, Nix, T pups, Magic and other assorted mismanaged floppers is to tell Boston Celtics fans "sorry guys we can't win more than 56 games over the next THREE seasons if we want a center and a power forward."

"If you don't want to do that? We'll just keep playing 4 guards and a smallish forward...ok? It's really fun, right? They run fast and shoot lots of threes...yay! We've got the best bench in the NBA! We've got the most improved back up players anywhere!"

I'm bitter, I'm very, very bitter.

Hey maybe we'll break decades of tradition and major free agents will want to come to Boston! ....or maybe not.

Face it, the draft is where we need to find stars. Tank, and tank hard..

I can't believe people are really still spouting this stuff at this point in the season as well as we've been playing after doing nearly everything we could do to be bad this year. And I can't believe the notion that we can't draw free agents is still alive after the many informative posts showing we've virtually never had cap space to sign free agents. Enjoy the ride, people!

Tradition is that we haven't had cap space. We do this year. It might be that players don't want to sign in Boston, but we have to have the opportunity to have cap space before you can say that we are never able to use it.

Brooklyn is tanking hard for us.

Honest question, Do you enjoy watching the games now? This season has been a great surprise and I love watching the games. If they had tanked like last year I wouldn't.
DKC:  Rockets

Brooklyn is tanking hard for Atlanta this year.  We can only hope that they continue to do so for the next few years.

Hard to see them getting much better next year.  Could possibly sign some free agents at the end of 2016.

I do not know whether this is the place to say it but I will have it on record:

I have this creeping feeling that when all is said and done, Justise Winslow will be the star of the 2015 draft class. I like his demeanor and play - a lot.

ATL getting the Nets loto pick could be very interesting this year. As long as ATL makes some noise in the playoffs its a safe assumption they bring their entire core roster back. Now add to that a top 10 pick do they trade for an established player or role the dice with the pick to develop another young piece. Remember they traded away Payne to clear roster space.I could see Kaminsky as a really nice fit off the bench for them but this may even come with a trade down.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
These jokes aren't getting enough play:

Is he going to PM you after the draft and ask you to edit these, I wonder?

I keep saying it. Johnson has been ALL over the board on mock drafts and big boards, especially when individual teams have been taken into account. Several times I've had him fall to 10 or 11. That'd be one hell of a haul for the tenth pick. (Cue the Paul Pierce flashbacks)

Who is this? An SF, I take it?

Are you talking about Stanley Johnson or Paul Pierce?

This Pierce guy. I see him referenced a lot but I don't know who he is.

Seriously, though, I don't follow college basketball very closely, or at all, really.

Think Crowder, but bigger and longer, more athletic, and more talented.

So, not Crowder.
