How long will his injury take to heal though? You have to figure he really won't be able to do much running for a couple months.

He has the pool and the bike. When I could not walk well. I was more in shape still go to the pool now. You can ride a bike if it is set up right. Diet is the key.
"People look at players, watch them dribble between their legs and they say, 'There's a superstar.'  Well John Havlicek is a superstar, and most of the others are figments of writers' imagination."

I actually felt for him, it was like he finally had to concede the point.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

People will say that talk is cheap, but just the admission that he needs to lose weight is already a huge departure from his previous mentality.  As recently as last summer, he was quoted as saying, "Not really focused on weight. More shape".

We'll see if he has the resolve to actually make a change, but it seems like this is the first time he's at least made it a goal.

Edit: Actually, I take it all back.  I thought he mentioned weight during his sideline interview with Abby Chin during the game, but I read the article and he doesn't mention it at all.  He's still just talking about "conditioning" and "shape".  Sounds like there's still a bit of denial there.

I hope he means it, he has talent but he has a long ways to go in that regard.

The first step to solving a problem is identifying it.

Sullinger seems like a smart and likable guy. However, knowing you have to be in better shape and actually doing it are two different things. There are lots of people in the league who coast by because they're talented. Sullinger could easily be one of those guys, just make his $8 million/year while putting up decent enough numbers. I would be skeptical if he suddenly gets it together his contract year next season because he may just revert back to his slovenly self once he gets a nice deal.

Maybe Sullinger's dad needs to move to Boston full time to guard the refrigerator.

Running isn't the key to losing weight.

Jay King has some more quotes. Sully sounds like finally accepting he has a serious issue there.

Quote
"It's kind of like pacing when I'm watching the first two quarters," Sullinger said. "The second half I always kind of wake up. So it looks like I'm pacing myself. So for me to be what Brad (Stevens) and Danny (Ainge) and all those guys want me to be, conditioning plays into that factor to play all-out for the four quarters."

Hard to admit that publicly. We can hope he delivers.
"We do so many defensive drills in practice, I come home and I'm putting the press on my woman, denying her the ball.
Y'all are laughing, but it's sad. I go home and deny the wing."

Same song

There will be four other teams fighting for that eighth spot, what does a sub 500 team making the playoffs actually say. Better yet, what will fans be saying about this team if they just barely mist the playoffs? Danny said the last thing he wants for this team is mediocre, I really hope he has something up his sleeve, the worst possible outcome for this team is finishing ninth place in the east. I would have loved if they traded for Kanter and IT if their plan was to fight for that eight spot.

I think he was somewhat worried about losing weight considering it is such a big part of his game

As he uses it to bang low in the post and box out
