Say they buy him out

How much would you pay rose?

I would do a turner type 2yr/10 mil

If he can change his game a bit  by playing off the ball more, I think it would be worth the gamble . Let Smart and Thomas handle the ball and set him up for open looks in brad Stevens motion offense. I think it would work

PG: Rose     / Thomas
SG: Smart   / AB
SF: Crowder / Young
PF:KO           / Sully
 C: Zellar

Rose could take his time coming back because we have Smart and IT to run the point .

Plus we would have a bunch of cap space left to possibly add a Hibbert or Jordan

Plus all our draft picks

- Would you trade for him if he isn't bought out ?

Under no circumstances.

If he was bought out, sure, he's worth a short-term MLE-level contract, with the hope that he outperforms that substantially.  I don't think that the Bulls will let him walk, though.

I'm not sure I wouldn't.  20 million next year, 21 million in 16/17.  So big but not horrible.  Say you can trade Wallace and Bradley for Rose and McDermott this summer.  Would you not consider it, especially if can't land any free agents?

I wouldn't...3 major injuries in 3 years...that's screaming red flag to me...

not sure if this guy will ever be healthy...he reminds me too much of Brandon Roy now

Of course a someone would post this. I was just waiting.
It's nice seeing him get exposed as overrated after having argued with fellow fans for years that he was overrated.. but I don't hate him. I'm looking forward to seeing him [...] bounce around to a couple more teams... eventually come back to Boston[...] and helps us as a role player until he runs himself out of the league.

Can't see it happening.  This is the organization that let Carlos Boozer eat $15m of their cap space for two straight seasons when they had an amnesty in their back pocket, at a time when they were a contender.  I can't see them paying Rose to leave when they have no shot at a championship for the duration of this contract.

The bloom is off the Rose.

If there was a chance of him being MVP caliber again, perhaps.  But realistically, that's an unrealistic expectation, isn't it?  I'm not even sure that he's a top-10 point guard any more.

Chicago and OKC are examples of how you absolutely have to do everything you can to win a title when you have that opportunity, because there is no guarantee those chances will last for anyone.

If Chicago buys out Rose, it's because Rose is retiring.

Sure, I'd sign him if he were cut/bought out.

That's a no brainer to me...low risk as long as we're talking the dollars you are in that scenario.

Trade for him?  And give up Bradley and Wallace's suddenly valuable contract in the process?  Nah, pass.

Bradley still hasn't hit his ceiling yet, I think we've seen Rose's best.

Sad to see a player struggling with multiple injuries when they are so talented.

Bulls aren't buying out Rose for a couple of reasons.

1) Look at the history of that ownership & buyouts.  They're not buying Rose out with 2 years remaining after this season and $41 million left on his deal.  The idea of paying a guy to not be on their roster.  (You also can't compare this to the Boozer situation)

2) The hometown factor.  Rose is a local kid.  They're not going to force him out the door.

he probably isn't, but he certainly could be as good as Bradley and it is just a two year commitment to figure it out.

Trading Bradley to take on a $20 million player who might be as good as Bradley seems like a bad risk to me.
