Before IT got here i heard a lot of the same adjectives used to describe him; "chucker, ball hog, selfish". I think IT has been a huge help to the C's, but some were concerned with his ball sharing as the trade rumors were flying.

So my question is: How many assists do you want to see IT average the rest of the season to be an efficient point guard for out system. Is 20 ppg and 3 assists a game good for you, or would you rather see something like 16-17ppg and 6?

I think 3 ast per game is too low.

At least 6 please.

I just want him to get whatever he gets, in the flow of the offense and then take over in the 4th. Number averages are an overrated stat. This guy has shown us a lot already and hasn't even seen a practice yet. I can only imagine the damage he can do to opposing D's, when he knows where other players are going to be.

Well, he is more established player now , not under the pressure to prove himself like his rookie season .  Being small...he probably felt he needed to prove his worth early , and being a ball hog got him lots of opportunity to practice and learn ...Thanks to the sucky Kings who needed him to be a ball hog .

He has matured some , and with this hopefully a feel for when he needs to shoot .....when the team desperately needs a bucket and how an d when to facilitate .

If Ainge and Stevens see his role as 6th man scorer, than the 20 and 3 will help us, since Thomas creates offense off the dribble and gets to the line better than anyone else we have.

If they see IT's future as a starting point guard, he better run the offense, create for others and get those assists up around 6.

Thomas is going to help us either way, but I imagine that Thomas will help himself more financially if he shows that he can be a starting point guard and not just a gunner.

On March 18, 2014, Thomas recorded his first career triple-double with 24 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in a 117-111 overtime win over the Washington Wizards; giving him status as the shortest player to ever record a triple-double in the NBA.

During his last season with the Kings, Thomas joined the likes of Calvin Murphy, Dana Barros, Damon Stoudamire, and Michael Adams as the only players under 6'0" tall to average over 20 points and 6 assists per game in a season.

I dig this...would be very happy if this is how it plays out.

I don't care how many assist he posts. Our offense struggles to get quality shots, there are going to be times when the best shot we can get in a given possession is IT taking a difficult shot late in the shot clock.

With really no other players that can create consistent separation I want him to be a chucker.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I think this sums it up very well.  it's not about the numbers for It (or anyone else on the team for that matter), it's all about the letter W.  That's the only stat that matters.

hoping to get the nickname "Cousin IT" to stick  ;D

I want him to be selfish. That is role. To be a gunner off the bench. The team need his scoring.

Unbelievable the guys is playing lights out and you expect more?  I think he is doing fine presently and if his numbers dip a little I will still be ok.   Our second unit lacks scoring punch, and he is it.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
As a PG, he should probably average more the 3 APG, but I don't mind if he is a chucker - as long as he is doing it efficiently. He is a scoring PG so we can't expect him to be Rondo, but I am hoping for more than Nate Robinson (who was good at what he did, but not really what we need).
