Outside of a couple of "rookie" mistakes ,he did a nice job on the defensive end yesterday. His length bothered passes but I didnt know he could jump/reach that high to bring grab rebounds. He had at least 3 key defensive rebounds for us.

Also looked more agressive on the offensive end. Cant wait to see more

Young's three point shot is too flat.

He needs to increase the arc on that shot if he can.

like Smart, Young is gaining confidence as he plays more and more. I can just picture him with Smart being a force to recon with in the future (a man can dream right  :) )

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
So far what I've seen from young is a decent team defender bad man defender. He pays attention to his man off the ball and doesn't really get beat, but he's slow footed when he has to go one on one. It looked like he was consistently getting beaten off the first step last night. He looked a half second slow, but it looked like that was more about him being nervous or over thinking then anything physical.

As for his shot I think it's all in his head he's been a great shooter all the way up to this point there's no reason to think he isn't one now.

He has improved in this regard since the season started.   He has all the tools, length and athletic ability.   He needs to work on his physical strength and body a bit and I think he will be fine.

He is a couple years behind some of the other young potential elites .  Injuries have slowed his development. More than anything .

I still say Smart s ankle was worse than a break , and is still not 100 percent.

Want him to become more than a Nick Young chucker , or Marshon Brooks

He is in a better system , with guys like Crowder, Bass , and Smart to learn about team play , team first.

He's not a "potential elite". He's a potential NBA player.

Young already rebounds better than Green. lol

I think we're only seeing the tip of the iceberg. His game is going to expand.

You should probably not be playing the lotto, unless you like throwing money down the drain. But I thought everyone knew that.

but koz, don't you know that the essence of most people's lives, indeed, the essential element of many lives is hope? delusional as they often are, such fantasies of luck help folks keep their sanity and continue to live out each day.

the draft lottery hopes here are one fine example.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Smart's ankle was worse than a break? He's played all but 13 games so far--that's about three weeks missed.

He's already an NBA player.

He's a potential elite NBA player.

Poor people. They should read Schopenhauer.
It's nice seeing him get exposed as overrated after having argued with fellow fans for years that he was overrated.. but I don't hate him. I'm looking forward to seeing him [...] bounce around to a couple more teams... eventually come back to Boston[...] and helps us as a role player until he runs himself out of the league.

Young has the tools to be a good defender.  A lot of the criticism of him comes from having a lot of mental lapses and lack of effort on defense in college.  He also was seen as having bad fundamentals, such as poor footwork.  These are things that can be improved, things that have to be improved, and I've argued that his playing time should be doled out in proportion to how hard he works at trying to fix these flaws and not how he does on offense.
