I love the IT pickup, and he's what the C's have been looking for, a go to scorer.

My only concern is this: Danny called IT immediately once FA started. Ultimately IT had no interest in coming here because he decided to take a modest contract with PHX. Should we be concerned that IT was traded to the Celtics, a team that he didn't have interest in coming to this Summer?

Maybe I am just over thinking.  ::)

Dwight Howard didn't have interest in going to the Rockets, then they traded for Harden and then he bolted to the Rockets from the Lakers...

this actually played into Danny's favor, instead of giving him a big contract, he got him for cheap

We have no idea what was offered this summer. The situation was much different when Rondo was still on the books, and that there was perhaps a chance that he would stay.

It's called a pun, folks. It gave me a good chuckle.

Otherwise, I think the guard rotation may look pretty good with the pieces we have. Especially considering that giving the ball to Thomas may mitigate the effect of Brad S having no idea how to call a game.

Stop the "pun"ishmnet, Koz! :)

And TP for being one of the first to acknowledge right when the trade went down, that IT immediately became the most skilled player on the team.

it is nice to see a point guard who can shoot the rock. it opens up passing as teams look to blitz him...opposite of rondo who looks to pass and teams leave him wide open.

my favorite play last night was when the suns blitzed IT and he threw a dart pass to a wide open bass for an easy dunk.

imagine if Rondo ever developed a knock down shot like IT

im surprised some people are upset ainge traded a low first round pick for a 20ppg scorer who is still young.

Isaiah Thomas is a keeper.

He is a playmaker and a scorer.

He is better than Rondo.

Agreed.

Come on, remember all those 20 ppg scorers we snagged in the middle of the first round in recent drafts?...

... yeah, me neither.

Love the trade. He is a really good player. Just hope we don't lose a top draft pick by sneaking in the playoffs.

That's the point.

We just got a top draft pick named Thomas.

And we still have 5 first round picks in the next two drafts.

Ainge is awesome.

Thomas is literally the furthest thing from a top draft pick.

Is that a joke or are you being needlessly pedantic?

Thomas was the furthest thing from a top draft pick.  Now, he's at least lottery level value.

My original response to this post was going to be 'Are you dumb, or just stupid?" but then I suspected it would be in violation of CB rules. As clarification I'll refer you to Koz's post on the previous page.

Yeah, I am hoping people aren't putting the cart before the horse here. While IT is refreshing and definitely more what this team needs right now, I will remain somewhat skeptical of his all-star potential until, you know, he makes at least one all-star team. Some may describe Rondo as one of the most dynamic PG's ever to play in the NBA (please note that I did not say best), IT plays more in-line with today's scoring PGs - hopefully he can continue playing at a high level.

And, yes, I love the trade.

Yep.

Once Chris Webber is saying "THOMAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSS" instead of "RONDOOOOOOOOOOH", then MAYBE we can start to discuss IT's place next to Rondo.

But until then, it's still:

Glad we got IT, though...love the kid. But let's not anoint him as the next Rajon or even better than him for crying out loud ;D.

still love Rondo, but let's see if IT can do what Rondo can during the playoffs...with all the hate Rondo gets this year, I wonder how he will perform this year during the playoffs.

don't get me wrong though, I love what I am seeing so far out of IT in the last 2 games and it's amazing how Danny got him for practically nothing
