I like the IT pickup.

BUT, our biggest need was a big (especially now that Sully is out.)

Not sure if getting someone like Lopez, Hickson or one of the guys that was traded (like Kanter or Plumlee) would've been possible, but it sure would've been nice.

Last night in the Kings game, it was painfully clear we are so weak in the paint, it's laughable (thought Zeller did have a decent game.)

I sure would like to see the Celts try to pick up someone like Larry Sanders. Even Perk would've been nice.

we'll have options to get a big this summer.  Still makes by far the most sense to tank this season.  2 games out of the playoffs, but we also have 2 more wins than the 5th worst team in basketball.  I'd much rather have a top 5 pick than a pointless playoff appearance this year.

I feel the total opposite. I'd rather make the playoffs than have an irrelevant higher chance at a draft pick.

Which is why Ainge should've acquired another big man, to help secure our chances at making the playoffs.

As Ainge says, it takes two to tanto. If there was a good deal out there for us to get a big, Ainge would have made it. It's not like you can blame him for laziness. I wonder if he talked to the nets about KG.

Ainge will probably try get a big in the draft

No point in getting a guy now that is ok at rim protecting so we could win a few more games

One of the best ways to tank is to not have a rim protector to protect the paint opens up lots of opportunities for the opponents to get Easy points in the paint

I like the Thomas pick up too
Considering we only gave up Thornton and a late first rounder for a good player

Ainge should've picked up an MVP candidate.

Which is the complete opposite of what I want to see happen.

Jerebko is a big.

Playing Sully worked well in this regard well too.

Danny has acquired plenty of big men in the last two years:

DJ White
Shav Randolph
Colton Iverson
Vitor Faverani
Joel Anthony
Dwight Powell
Shav Randolph (again!)
Jonas Jerebko

Impressive huh?

no. he should have picked up at least THREE mvp candidates.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Brook Lopez is making $16 million a year and plays half the games at most.  He basically only plays offense anyways and our biggest weakness with big men is defense.  It would clog our cap and free up the Nets to get good, right at the time when we're going to get all their draft picks.

JJ Hickson is a 6'9" PF, which is exactly what we don't need.  No more big men under 6'10" period.

Forcing ourselves to draft a big over BPA is also a mistake.  The only player we have who looks like a guaranteed starter going forward is Smart and he can play either guard spot.  So draft the best player and worry about the other stuff later.

I really don't get the obsession with going to the playoffs this year with a 30-52 record.  That's not earning anything, it's defaulting into the playoffs.

I mean behind Door #1 is a player that is more likely to be an asset and behind Door #2 is a playoff sweep and a worse asset.

If we could have gotten a good big man that made sense with our long term plans, that would have been great.  That big man was not out there for us.  You can't rush these things.

Didn't we just acquired the great Jonas Jerebko?
