Most likely looks like this

2015-Boston, Clippers
2016-Boston, Nets, Dallas
2017-Boston, Memphis
2018-Boston, Nets

And a ton of 2nd round picks.  The Clippers and Dallas picks should be in the 20's somewhere unless something weird happens. The nets picks have a chance ot be very good. Our picks should be trending towards the playoffs imo. Dallas's pick is going to roll over until 2016 and is still top 7 protected so we will probably get it.

I think giving up Clevelands 2016 pick was worth it for Isiah Thomas.  I think this team is trending upwards and this is a guy Ainge has wanted and should fit in long term.  We are missing a few things but we still have plenty of flexibility to get those things.  Ainge just needs to keep plugging away and finding the right pieces that fit.

I couldn't agree more.  IT was definitely worth a late 1st round pick.  Especially when you consider that he is on a very reasonable contract and that we have a surplus of picks to play with.  GREAT move by Danny.
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

Just so happy Prince and Thornton got moved at the deadline for some useful items.

Bass and Wallace stay, but aren't long for this team. I know Danny said he will consider resigning Bass, but I can't imagine he'd commit much cap room to him given where we are.

So happy we retain multiple firsts several years out, plus new found cap room this summer!

I just want to start losing. Sorry,  I do.  The Celtics need a decent pick from this season to really jump forward.  And hope for a LAC collapse.

We aren't in Johnny Most go crazy folks mode yet but I can feel good about this trade because it shows we are trending in a good direction instead of tearing it down.  Trading Rondo, Pierce and KG was tough, but we have players on this team now where I think we are starting to get some sort of identity.  We could still be lottery bound this year for all I know but trend wise I just get the feeling we have something to be excited about here.

Yeah Gerald Wallace is still on this roster.  But there aren't many of those guys.  I feel like we have a nucleus here.  Ainge is still going to make trades and some bigger than others.  Some of them might give up some of our young core depending on what it is, but we have draft picks where we can make moves.  We don't necessarily have to do that.

I  can start getting attached to some of these guys i feel. I can see it in ways.  I hate  pulling for  a team where these guys could be gone tomorrow but I don't feel that way about this team so much.  Getting Thomas to me signifies something else.

I think Jack Buck said "Go crazy folks! Go crazy!" unless Most did and I was unaware.

Most was "oh my this place is going crazy!". My bad.  Ironically when bird stole the ball from Isiah Thomas.

Yeah, trading one 1st is really no big deal to me. We would have had to turn at least a pick or two into a real NBA player at some point. Can't just roll out 5 or 6 rookies.

Isaiah Thomas is better than anyone they would have picked in the late 20s.  It was a step in the right direction.  The draft is such a crapshoot.  For every Wiggins there is a Stauskas.  The C's got a quality player today and I don't think that he alone can improve their draft position too dramatically.  So, he may get us a few wins and drop us down a spot or 2 in the draft, but long term he will have a bigger impact on the success of the team.

I can see Bass getting more than the minimum and less than the MLE.  I like having him around if either Sullinger or Olynyk gets traded in a package for a star.

  • Yup
Anyone know if the "right to swap picks" With the Nets next year has any sort of protection or time constraints?

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
