we would send the jazz a brooklyn pick
that's actually not bad.  probably the first trade proposal I've seen you make that I didn't think we grossly overpaid.  Wouldn't include a Nets pick though.  would consider a different first rounder that doesn't belong to the C's or the Nets
Because it's a terrible trade for everyone but the Celtics, that's why.

Prince camp plans to engage Celtics in buyout talks tomorrow.

don't see why we are holding onto Bass if we are going to get rid of other productive vets . Tak a 2nd rd for him , but get something. There is no way he is coming back next year....
Probably nobody wants to give up a 2nd for Bass.

I can imagine Bass, Thornton and Prince all getting bought out.  That should be it for us this trade deadline.  Pack it in.
Prince maybe but he's looked like a good influence on the younger players.  Bass and Thornton are here for the year.

Call me crazy, but if I am a GM I don't buy anyone out unless it helps me get under a cap somewhere.  If other teams know you will buy out vets, that hurts your leverage later.

So much for our playoff hopes lol Two teams we were competing with just got quite a bit better at their weakest spots. Looks like Danny really laid an egg on this one not even getting to help facilitate.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

heat and pistons did an upgrade we did nothing, clear sign that danny does not want into the playoffs..
He's basically admitted it... he was quoted just a few week ago saying something along the lines of the playoffs being a waste of time if you can't compete.  This team can't compete.   Buyouts were always the most likely scenario here.  It was smart to hang onto the vets in case someone offered up a pick... now it's time to cut ties with them.

ugh too bad I actually like Prince...

I like him too but he's hindering Young

True but that means we need to actually be committed to playing Young. Hopefully this shows it

Yeah, but ownership is part of the equation.  It is they who save money is a buy out.

The big news here (for us) is Brooklyn remains just as bad as they were before

Not bummed

Nothing I really wanted was really very possible.

Wanted Cousins .....knew it was super slim chance and that's about it ......the rest was stupid prices or bad fit , or role players that didn't move the needle .

Sad Bass wasn't  GIVEN away at least.....I guess the rest of the GMs know the score with him

If a 35-year old on his last legs is "hindering" you, you have no business being around the NBA.

That has to be connected to the Pistons deal?
