I'd also like him to stay, but I get the feeling he wants to compete now and will insist on a BO. I understand him.

He can insist all he wants, the Cs don't have to accommodate him. I'd rather pay him to sit at home than buy him out and have him go help the Clippers.

I wouldn't. That's a great way to get a black mark across the league with players and agents.

 A player can ask for a buyout, but a team isn't obligated at every turn to do so and no, it doesn't cause a "black mark" because they refuse to give him money so he can walk. If that were the case, every team in the league would have such "black marks".

Now if Prince doesn't mind being bought out for pennies on the dollar, I can see the Cs wanting to save a couple of million. But with the season more than halfway done, it would have to be $.50 or less per dollar owed to even make much of a difference to the bottom line.
