Bill Duffy, agent for Dragic, offered a list of teams that they would prefer to be traded, including the Lakers, league source tells Yahoo.

Doubt the C's are on that list.

Goran Dragic wants out of Phoenix.

According to two people with knowledge of the situation, the representatives for the Suns point guard told team officials in a Tuesday meeting that he has no plans to re-sign in Phoenix this summer as a free agent.

With the Thursday trade deadline looming and the clear message now sent that Dragic plans on playing elsewhere next season, it remains to be seen if Suns general manager Ryan McDonough will succumb to the pressure and agree to a deal. The people spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.

Would Lakers adding Dragic make them an instant contender? Lolol

I doubt we get Dragic but I can see us getting involved as a 3rd team to facilitate the deal, given Danny's relationship with McDonough.

Does this mean we can lock all the Thomas trade threads now?

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
Goran is trying to get paid next year. The Lakers, Knicks and Heat all can offer him the max in the offseason and will have him as their only starting caliber point guard. All those teams are also big markets where he can make a lot on endorsements.

Edit- there are apparently 7 teams on the list. With the cap space the Celtics will have I woulldn't be surprised if he was a good fit. Trading for him then paying him $20 a year doesn't seem like a great idea to me.

4 Stein tweets in the last half hour:

If no trade materializes, Dragic would head to free agency seeking a four-year max from Lakers or Knicks that could reach $80 million range

If Dragic gets dealt this week, new team inherits Bird rights and will be able to offer five-year deal in July. If no trade materializes ...

Dragic, I'm told, prefers Lakers and other situations to Houston, which means Rockets would be risking lots to surrender assets for him now

ESPN sources say Rockets -- for all their well-known interest in Dragic -- are NOT a team likely to secure long-term commitment from the PG

This is a weird time in the NBA.  Players demanding trades has reached such a point that the league actually changed the rules to make it harder, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

I see this as the downside of David Stern's emphasis on individual stars over teams.  He promoted guys like their own brands and now that's how even mid-level stars like Dragic and done-nothing youngsters like Monroe are now acting.
