I'm all for it.  Like Kanter, I don't see how you can just give up on 22 yr olds.  They still have a lot to learn and still could develop into players.  "Dumb" teams continue to give up way to early in this league.

I've seen a suggestion that he might be seen as expendable.  I don't see anything to suggest that he might be available for cheap.

Tp it's just crazy how he went from being a top prospect to chicken scratch in a matter of a year and a half. I'd love to take a gamble on him especially with his rookie contract.

Where did you see that he could be had for cheap? That absolutely baffles me. I dont think he fits tremendously, nor do I love him as a point guard but isnt it a little early to wave the white flag on a top 10 pick?

If hes available for pennies on the dollar then grab him. He could be a long term back court solution or just another nice asset.

Define "giving up". Utah offered Kanter a 4 year / $32M extension last year and he declined.  I think teams rarely give up on 22 year-olds, except when their only other option is overpaying them. They would have happily groomed him right through age 25 if he didn't want All-Star money.

Trey Burke has looked like crap since he entered the league. He was handed the starting job and has been pretty poor at every aspect of the game imo. We can do much better.
