According to ESPN, the Lakers are hot on Dragic’s trail, attempting to lure him to Los Angeles with a max deal worth around $80 million when he becomes a free agent this offseason.

Dragic told the Houston Chronicle in January the Rockets will have an equal chance to land his services in free agency despite the team’s inability to re-sign him in 2012.

Dragic was an All-NBA third team selection last season, but hardly garnered any consideration for the All-Star game this year despite averaging 16.2 points per game. According to ESPN, Dragic has expressed some frustration with playing alongside two score-first points guards in Bledsoe and Thomas.
"I bomb atomically, Socrates' philosophies and hypotheses
Can't define how I be dropping these mockeries."

Is the glass half-full or half-empty?
It's based on your perspective, quite simply
We're the same and we're not; know what I'm saying? Listen
Son, I ain't better than you, I just think different

Love it if Dragic pulls a Howard on them, and splits as a FA.

was hoping this was concerning a trade attempt rather than waiting until free agency this offseason

It actually is, but he didn't put the first part of the story...

The Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers are among many teams expected to try to persuade the Phoenix Suns to part with star guard Goran Dragic before Thursday's NBA trade deadline, according to league sources.

Sources said that the Rockets, who let Dragic go in free agency in the summer of 2012 but have him high on their list of free-agent targets this summer, are prominent among the teams hoping to engage the Suns in serious discussions about Dragic before the league's annual trade buzzer next week.
