So...

9-14 with Rondo (39% win percentage)
11-17 without Rondo (39% win percentage)

Makes sense.
Mavs... 19-8 without Rondo (70% win percentage)
Mavs... 16-11 with Rondo (59% win percentage)

Seems legit

+1.

Actually... Mavs 12-9 with Rondo (57% win percentage).   They've gone 4-2 since his injury.

Another Danny Ainge special.  3 draft picks for an unrestricted free agent that makes almost no impact on a team's ability to win games.  Pretty pleased with the trade.

If Thorton and Bass are traded by the deadline, does this team becoming a bottom 7 team? Or are those roles easily fillable by Young and another backup big?

Is Prince's influence on this team the reason for the wining? Or is this team naturally scrappy and will pull out wins?

What does Ainge do?

Actually, it's 8-14 vs. 12-17. So winning percentage w/Rondo .363 and w/out Rondo .413.

W/out Rondo: Bulls (Rondo missed this game), Timberwolves, Kings, Nets, New Orleans, Trail Blazers, Nuggets, Jazz, Knicks, Nuggets, 76ers, Hawks - 12-17

W/Rondo: Brooklyn, Pacers, 76ers, Pistons, Lakers, Washington, 76ers, Magic - 8-14

And, if anything, the quality of competition is harder post-Rondo with more notable wins without him than with him.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

I would be stunned if Bass, Thornton and Prince are on this team after the deadline.

12-17 41% without him ;)

I still think all three guys are going to go

Thornton almost single handedly kept us in the game.   Any playoff bound team can use this guy

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
The Rondo winning percentage posts are probably a little misleading. Before the deadline, we were a team that was about to pop - players didn't know who would be here and who wouldn't. The team was a mish-mash of positional players without any rhyme or reason.

Since Rondo and Green left, the players on the team have a new energy and nothing-to-lose attitude. The young guys have moved into their assigned roles and even the veteran players are outcasts who are still trying to prove they have what it takes to win.

I get that it's 'weird' that we have a slightly better winning percentage than with our 'stars', but I would take Rondo on a team with other stars any day.

Hawks don't have a real center/ rim protector . They play two pf's , and they also don't have a real go to guy down the stretch (Curry,Lebron, Harden types).

They are not legit contenders IMO, and could be upset in the 1st rd

What Im feeling as well. They seem to be an elite version of the Nuggets a couple of years ago.

Same here. The problem is we don't have any other stars.

And that sucks. I mean, Thornton seems like a nice guy and all, but talk about a player that has no future with the Celtics. If it were Smart, Young, even Bradley, then great, but If Thornton is going to continually knock down threes to keep us in a game, then I would just assume lose the game.

Was at the game, my observations...

Sully is clearly our best player
Sully might be more overweight than glen Davis

Tayshaun is the definition of a pro

James young did a fine job defensively on Korver and I believe CBS played him on him specially so young can get used to guarding big twos/threes that he'll most likely be a good matchup against.

James Young needs more playing time. Had a big steal near the end of the game.

Avery needs to be traded asap for anything... I'm sorry his shot selection is terrible , he's a role player on a team that doesn't need role players.

Marcus Smart came in , in the 4th and sparked that win, hit a clutch 3 played great defense on Teague and when he drove to the basket finished. It seemed when Schroeder was guarding him and vice versa he took it personal and drove to the basket and was very aggressive, on both sides. I was upset when CBS took him out for the final play , ended up being a good call cause Turner made the basket, but I don't see us winning any playoff games with turner being our finisher. Prior to that last possession, smart was wide open off the defensive rebound, and turner had his head down and was trying to be the hero, passed to Avery and kid looked like he didn't know what to do, gave it back to turner and he put his head down again, thankfully CBS called time out.

I can't stand our rotation, but I guess we need to get used to it until our roster is in-tact. I can't wait to see Turner,Bass,Thorton, and Wallace off this roster. We can keep prince because the guy is nothing but positive when on the floor, but he's obviously not in the future plans as well, but don't give him away for nothing.
