They had some decent pieces there last year - Giannis, Knight, Middleton, even role guys like Pachulia - but just couldn't get it together. Now with all the young guys having a year more development, and Kidd, who shockingly seems like a pretty good coach already, they're really starting to click.
It's not good in the long-run, but I think in the short term not having to develop Parker has helped them win some games.
As for COY, it's probably between Kidd, Budenholzer, and Kerr, with Kerr at a disadvantage because GS already had high expectations. I think Budenholzer's got the inside track because they've got the better record and Kidd probably rubbed a few people the wrong way with the Brooklyn fiasco.
