Doc Rivers thinks he can really make this work??

This may be the downfall of the Clippers. If the team even starts to think of nepotism Rivers could lose the locker room.

Yeah... Doc is gonna sabotage the Clips.  Rondo was well on his way to sabotaging the Mavs' offense before his injury.  Mild set-back.  He'll be back to trainwrecking Dallas after the all-star break.

Then this Summer we can sign the following free-agents:  Rondo, Ray, Pierce, KG, Perk...   Doc quits and comes back.   Danny Ainge cements his place as the modern Red Auerbach.

reminds me of when I played club footy; the coach gave his son best and fairest 3 years running before he got kicked out of the league. similar thing on a much larger scale going on here apparently.

all the better for boston

Redick is injured and Crawford played more minutes in the comfortable role as 6th man. Nothing to see here. When's JJ is back, Rivers is back to the bench.

Right, plus Rivers had a good game, so there's that.

Meh.....this team has a lot of elite athletes , each with a limited elite level skill set    Rivers won't have much impact either way

There is only one brain and only one leader among them .

The whole house of cards falls down if CP3 is not on the floor 35 minutes a game .....every game.

Without CP3 , they are an unraveled crowd playing street hoops.

Brilliant move by Danny, playing the Austin card as he did.

... because the Cs finish dead last in the league, and end up with the #1 pick of the 2016 draft.

Yeah, who is he "starting ahead of"?  Crawford as you say is just in his normal role, which Doc usually stresses with key bench players when starters are hurt.

The issue is less that Rivers is starting and more that he's still not very good.

well, in all fairness, over his past 6 games austin has played all right.

10 pts/g
1.8 asts/g
33% 3 pt shooting
47% fg shooting
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

i don't agree.
rivers is so bad that he really drags the team down when he's on the court, he doesn't belong in this league. he can't pass, can't defend, doesn't look like he really understands the team game on either end. when you have a guy out there who really doesn't do anything well it ruins the whole game plan, everyone needs to be on the same page and capable of holding down their end of the fort, otherwise you have big breakdowns, and from what i've seen of rivers, he's at the heart of a lot of those breakdowns.

On a side note it was nice to Leon Powe wearing green representing the organization at a special needs basketball clinic.
Yup

This isn't a bad move (until JJ is healthy). He won't have to do anything but shoot the ball being the 5th option and he won't have to direct the offense with all those good players surrounding him. CP3 will defend the best SG or PG and AR will take whoever else they can hide him on, then DJ is there to save him when needed.

I think this will work better than people think. With that said, Clips aren't all that when JJ is healthy, they wont fall out of the playoffs but could fall a couple spots (please).
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)
