Denver is looking to move a lot of their players

Wonder what it would take to get Faried.

I really like him as a player

Good scorer, great rebounder and plays with a high motor.

He makes a lot of money for an undersized garbageman who can't play defense.  Good energy, not a very good player.

Don't think his skillset is particularly valuable to us.

Great words from a great man

Faried is a better player than Sullinger, Olynyk and Zeller.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I like Faried, but we are winning so many games recently that we are probably going to be in the range of where Montrezl Harrell will be drafted...which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.

His performance with team USA was commendable, definitely think he has a motor that most players don't. I'm all for exploring other options in the Front Court and Kenneth Faried would probably be the best player on the team, but I just dont think it's a good time in the rebuild to add a player like him.

Think we need an established scorer, and ideally a tall defensive center, before trying to fill the high energy, athletic, rebounder/finisher spot.

Side Note: Tell you what though you can see why Denver is trying so hard for that Brooklyn trade. Easy to like the idea of a Kenneth Faried/Brook Lopez frontcourt. Those two are the very definition of complimentary.

Faried signed a 4 year 50 million dollar extension I believe.  Is he THAT much better than Sullinger, whos still on his rookie deal?

Great player we really don't need right now .

He is not THE player to build around or players ....he is cool player you want to ADD to the certain star .

Celtics need a core center or an elite forward skilled scorer .

Eventually a center will become available .....and DA should hold his assets till then.

Tim Duncan , Kobe , Pierce ....few guys stay in one place that long .......eventually some stars will want out of their situations

He can't shoot, I think he is flawed but is athletic and plays hard.  Tweener size though.

I prefer Sullinger to Faried so no interest in bringing Faried to Boston.

Faried is a very difficult player to build a team around because of his limitations on both ends of the court. A middle of the pack defensive player who needs a strong interior defender next to him for team defense to be strong. A very limited offensive player who cannot make a shot outside of 5 feet from the basket so he needs a center who can space the floor and knock down the jump-shots. Faried is also a lousy passer which forces the center to be the main big man passer on the team. The number of centers who can do both (1) defend at high level (2) space the floor and pass the ball at a high level = is extremely small and all of them are highly regarded by their own teams and difficult to acquire.

The end result is that Faried's teams throughout his career thus far have been forced to put ineffective big man partnerships on regular basis. Either ones which lack offensive balance or defensive balance (or both). He is an extremely difficult player to put a roster around because of severe limitations of his skill-set.

Boston does not have this type of center (defensive anchor, high post passer/shooter) and therefore should be not be looking to acquire such a highly flawed PF player as Faried.

Imagine if Sullinger had Faried's effort and work ethic... This wouldn't even be a debate.

Wow....   It would be something,  maybe  ZBO on steroids

At his weight , Sully's  heart would explode with a Faried motor .

Sully is plain lazy .

I suspect he has more than just poor eating and gym habits going on.

In the end , his poor attitude toward health ...will cost him.  Untold millions od dollars had he tried.

I like Faried but he is not a good fit for our current roster or what I perceive as Stevens system. (seems to like rounded bigs who can play inside and out).

Watching the denver game I actually had an outside the box trade idea. Why don't the 76ers go after Faried? His style of play isnt going to suddenly make them a winner but he could be their first real step out of the tank. With Faired they are still a bottom 5 team but his acquisition would at least create a positive vibe with fans and his young teammates. Not including their pick this offseason they roster next season would include the following players in the top of the rotation. MCW, Faried, Noel, Embiid, Saric, Mcdaniels and Thompson.
