OP has good point .

I think the search goes on for that go to person ....Paul Pierce player

Prince gave flashback s of such a player ..... :'(

Don't think this player is on the team yet.

I believe Danny is saving his few precious bullets for a Center to build around.

We'll see.

Good Post !

  • Anything is possible.
For this team, I am starting to think Marcus Smart is the one who is supposed to emerge as the star. However he needs more time to develop, and he's gotta start driving in the lane more. Wouldn't be surprised to see a trade at the deadline in regards to the rebuild

We all know picks and a few players of quality are coming. Timing is everything and DA probably has no hard and fast deadlines, you want the right guys. We have to live with what we have ATM and save any frustration until the rebuild moves have been made. If we are still unhappy with the team then, it will be the right time to vent. Though the process may still be frustrating, I have no problem with the team now. May have even overachieved in some aspects.

Kevin Love, DeAndre Jordan, Draymond Green or any other top free agent are not signing with a team that sucks and has a bunch of guys on the roster barely old enough to legally drink, no matter how much you offer them.  But win 38 games, makes the playoffs and then slap a max deal on the table?

Also, I like this draft.  I think Wiggins is the best player this year or last year and I love Marcus, but in the 7-12 range this draft will be as good or better than last year.  Hezonja, Miles Turner, Kelly Oubre, Justise Winslow all look interesting and WCS, Stanley Johnson or Porzingis could fall to us.  Mudiay and Okafor both look awesome, but I mean I'm not going to be super depressed if we don't get Towns or D'Angelo Russell.

ainge has traded away our best players meaning this season truly doesn't matter
we are not really going all in and developing this season which means this season (and possibly part of next) doesn't matter
we don't currently have a true nba starter on our roster  :-[
lack of cohesion for starting team, playing time or rotation

should i go on?  :-\

Exactly! I'm not sure that we have any players who could start for a title contender. This is why against good teams we often dig ourselves a big hole early but fight back later since our bench players are often as good or better than our opponents, only to lose late when matched up against their starters. The difference between our best starter and our weakest rotation player is not that great.

We lack an alpha dog, we have a like a Kappa dog ( Greek letter for C or K) and maybe one beta dog but no alphas.

TP for all three because I like the 2nd tier guys in this draft all seem like good. Yet I say go mikes route for playoffs via Cousins trade then Butler in FA. If we can't get Cousins trade try more trades that allow more tanking. Rather have the pick of the full crop after all.

While we are not on the level of these teams I think of the recent year Grizzlies (even back to the Gay and Mayo days) and the Pistons from 2004-2010. Teams that had above average to all star talent at every position yet had no "go-to" guy. No one on those teams averaged above 20ppg, at least consistently. You could say Billups or Gasol for those teams but would anyone really be that shocked if Rip/Rasheed or ZBo/Conley took the last shot instead?

Guys like SMart, Young, Thorton, and even Bradley don't seem shy throwing it up so with that many guys on one team its hard to have one guy be the focus every night.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

I've thought this before but the reality is we won't get anything better than the 5th pick based on standings. We are not winning games against Indy, Utah, Detroit (the 5-10 range teams), they seam to be losing so its not really the Celtics.

I hope you're right because the schedule is about to get real soft. We could easily end up with the 9th pick.

Johnson, Towns and Russell will be top 5 picks.  My guess is Porzingis and one of Turner, Oubre or Winslow won't declare for this draft.

Have you seen James Young this season. He is oozing with potential, has the wettest shot, and will naturally gain strength and athleticism. By next year he should be starting.

I'd cut Bass, Prince, Thornton....BOOM

Then trade Avery for a contract that comes off the books in 2016 and an asset or young player
