Because Prince isn't going to be a part of the future and the team is in the middle of a rebuild, meaning development of their younger players is more important than trying to eke out a win on the back of an aging vet.

So I guess that wasn't the philosophy on the west coast trip?

I'm sure somebody already mentioned this, but Whiteside is a free agent!

No, he's not.

How did they get 24 seconds back on the shot clock?

A kickball violation resets the shot clock

no it doesn't, it goes to 14 if lower than 14 or stays with whatever if more than 14.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I have watched every game this season, although not every minute, and it has been a real struggle to sit through unwatchable games.  I keep telling myself that I won't watch, but it is like the wreck on the road...hard not to gawk in disbelief and denial.

He gave him the same token minutes he afforded Jameer Nelson when was first acquired.

No, resets to 24 if above 14 seconds, goes to 14 if below 14, there was 17 seconds on the clock when the infraction occurred so it reset to 24.
2019 historical draft.  Pick 12

Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, Scottie Pippen, Willis Reed, Mitch Richmond, Sam Jones, Dan Majerle, Bob Cousy, Rasheed Wallace, Shawn Kemp, Marcus Camby

u may be right but I don't think you are. i don't mind being wrong so I will just give it up to you.

I really believe shot clock resets only after change of possession so kick isn't a change if we kicked and they kept it.

no it doesn't, it goes to 14 if lower than 14 or stays with whatever if more than 14.

Directly from the NBA rules manual:

Section V-Strike the Ball

a. A player shall not kick the ball or strike it with his fist.

b. Kicking the ball or striking it with any part of the leg is a violation when it is an intentional act. The ball accidentally striking the foot, the leg or fist is not a violation.

PENALTIES:

(1) If the violation is by the offense, the ball is awarded to the opponent at the sideline nearest the spot of the violation.

(2) If the violation is by the defense, the offensive team retains possession of the ball at the sideline nearest the spot of the violation. The 24-second clock is reset to 24 seconds and if the violation occurred in the backcourt a new 10-second count is awarded.

Shot clock always resets on kick ball violations, defensive fouls, and illegal defense violations.

Okay, thank you. I will have to look closer at the game next time but I don't remember them resetting it each time (i know they did there).

I don't care what's wrong with Prince, if it's his back you still need to put him out there!! You put AB in with a sprained thumb, Turner with a wobbly wrist, and Smart with a gimpy ankle!! We could have used a little Prince!!!

I can't believe it. Marcus Smart is leading all players in the game in assists.  :o Never thought that would happen

Funny you say that because the Heat announcers were actually complementing the C's on how much more ball movement they have since the Rondo trade.

And the Heat announcers would know this because? My guess is they never see the Celrics.

Well, Eric Reid, their play by play guy was talking about how he spoke to Gorman at length before the game, and how they used to do Big East games together years ago. Then the conversation switched to Rondo and how he has a knack for holding the ball and trying to wait until he made a pass that led directly to a FG. So either he knows this from watching C's games or from Gorman directly. I don't think it's any secret that announcers tell each other things that would help them discuss the other team on air.
And they never give each other misinformation either.

Like Game of Thrones only without any motive whatsoever to do so.
No motive? Have you ever met people?

So with all the ball movement, why are they 7-15 without Rondo?

And with an easier schedule than the Rondo period.
