I'm not his biggest fan, but Kelly Olynyk would look significantly better playing in front of a defensive anchor. I'm quite sure of this.

Look at the 2nd field goal. Surprising hops! Kelly will get it.

Anyway, how many tough 3p-shooting big men do we have in the league? Floor stretchers are generally a bit on the soft/skillful side.

Y'all are laughing, but it's sad. I go home and deny the wing."

Kelly apparently has "soft" ankles.

Yup

That's probably the plan .   Getting a franchise big is impossible with same teams tanking out every year .

Hopefully ...Danny can BUY a center with his assets and cap space at some point.   Eventually some star will want out of his team

I'm not denying Danny thought he was choosing the best layer available. But he had to realize two slow footed, athletically challenged power forwards we're going to produce a slow reacting, non rim protecting front court if played together. And it has.
I mean honestly, someone has to defend the paint, and the rim. Neither can. Offense is nice, but seriously.

I'm not saying Kelly doesn't has talent, he has small man talent. Ten pounds of strength will not accomplish anything, and the fact, he is aggressive, that's why he's always in foul trouble. He pushes, and reaches, and grabs, to cover up the fact that he is slow footed, slow off of his feet, and a poor leaper in general.

On the offensive side of the ball... yes, he is unique, and he will make a nice 6 or 7th guy off the bench when the team needs points in a hurry.

Or he'll make a very nice, offensively versatile starting power forward when he finally becomes paired with a legitimate, defensive minded, athletic, rim protecting center.

You pair Kelly with D. Jordan and get him out of the paint, with less defensive responsibility, and yes he will look better. He'll just have to defend his man, and not worry about defending the rim, or controlling the boards so much. It will help him, but it will never make him anything near a good defender.
Against athletic power forwards, with speed and movement, he will get exposed big time.

You think Olynyk control the boards now?    LOL

He averages 5.4 a game.

How many of the top power forwards currently in the league have games based on "speed and movement"?

Anthony Davis
Blake Griffin
 . . . ?

He'll have trouble containing those guys.  Join the club, Kelly.

He will have to rebound for his position. I'm talking more about a KO in another year or two. When he knows who he is as a player. The point is, he'll never be a strong defender, but can be a player with value.

KO is steady learner and improves ....I will say that ...at a snails pace ..he needs extensive work on his game 10 feet in.   He plays like a guard .    He pokes at the ball, slaps at wrists.  He has to learn to use his bulk to hold his ground .

KO has Zero back to rim game . .....Bass looks like Akeem compared to Kelly......he has no good moves around the rim and refuses to take it up I both hands in crowd and dunk.

He is killing me .......my Dad would have been hospitalized with frustration.

He still has that timid attitude ...playing like  6 ' foot tall and don't want to mess around the seven footers

Drives me crazy .......he needs to see a shrink ......and look in the mirror ......and understand who he is .

Kelly has a bunch of work to do.  I agree with that, but I think Kelly understands who he is.

Unfortunately, many fans don't seem to have any understanding of who he is as a basketball player.  You guys still want to turn him into a back-to-the-basket on offense, defensive rim-protecting center.

Newsflash:

That is not who Kelly Olynyk is.

KO just needs to realize he's the man, like Keanu Reeves in the matrix

they need to feature him on offense the way they do with avery Bradley. KO should be the one getting AB's touches
