Ok…coming to half way point/all star break.  I'm pretty confident Ainge wants our guys to take all star weekend off and rest up for a big push on 2nd half of season.  8)

You can't count traded players, Rajon Rondo or Jeff Green.  Who is the half way point MVP of the Boston Celtics this season?  And this is not steadiest, flashiest or best player.  Who has been the most valuable player to the team.

I'd write in TPE.  :)

Really no one deserves it right now, but Sully I guess.

Well, so sorry. For me: Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green.
It's nice seeing him get exposed as overrated after having argued with fellow fans for years that he was overrated.. but I don't hate him. I'm looking forward to seeing him [...] bounce around to a couple more teams... eventually come back to Boston[...] and helps us as a role player until he runs himself out of the league.

Jared Sullinger - just gets boards and helps the offense run with screening, passing, stretch and occasional (but not enough) attacking the paint. Someone like that SHOULDN'T be the MVP for a team, but our team sucks.

I think Zeller is a close second.

Evan Turner has most likely increased his value in the eyes of GM's in the league. His contract is very reasonable when compared to others. He can play 3 positions, and score out of all three, he aggressive, and he works on defense, he doesn't take plays off like some. Who knew he could be a starting PG?

Zeller gets a mention, considering he was given to the Celtics for a bag of balls.

Well, this is depressing. :)

I'm going with Brandon Bass for professionalism, work ethic, and playing aggressive on both sides of the ball.  Honorable mention to:

I concur, TP.  You have the guts to say what I was thinking reading these posts.

We DO NOT HAVE an MVP!   Our guys are up and down, all over the place.  Sully has produced boards and points but he is horrible on D.   He has a good game or two and a bad game or two.  AB has shown he is not ready to lead.  Smart is a nice leader on D and sets a tone sometimes but he is woeful on offense.  Zeller has shown he has some value but can disappear.   Turner has been a surprise but he is not reliable in terms of production.  I do agree, Bass is the most consistent guy we have.

Green and Rondo are gone, I would have picked Green prior to the trade, perhaps, he was having a good year.  Ainge is a GM, so in my eyes he is not up for the award.   He saw the build around Rondo was not working and pulled the plug.   He has the courage to do what is necessary.

I would say the most pleasant surprise on the team has been Zeller. He is the only one I find even mildly inspiring and the only one giving more than I expected.

Turner or Zeller would get if this were based on expectations alone. But it's not so it Sully w/o argument.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

+1 - I mean, I suppose a case can be made for AB, but it's hard to give it to somebody who has actually disappointed expectations (that weren't that great to begin with). Reluctantly, it goes to Sully - because it can't go to anybody else.

In reality, after Sully, KO's probably done the most to help the team win--insofar as they have won, of course.

But KO isn't even listed in this poll.

too late - already did.

Rondo is the MVP for 2 reasons:
1) no one's play this year should be in the same sentence as MVP
2) the return on his trade, though not as much as I would have expected, will continue to pay dividends down the road as Danny continues his wheeling and dealing.
