All jokes aside I believe we have the best bench in the NBA.

PG
Avery Bradley
Crowder
Sully
Zeller

What I'm trying to say here is our starting 5 aside from a Fully groomed and experienced Marcus smart is a great Bench 5.
If in the next year we can acquire legit starting Center,SF,and Maybe SG we can become a legit contender.
Now don't laugh at me and say that's a joke because any team that acquires 2-3 all stars obviously becomes a contender, because that isn't true.
I don't think many of the teams with two all stars are contenders because their supporting cast is so weak.
What I'm saying here is we have a potentially pretty good foundation here, we are just missing the Burger and cheese to put in between the buns and lettuce and tomatoe.

I believe a Smart and Young backcourt can be special, once Young learns to defend and smart learns how to have a better handle , run the PnR to perfection and runs an offense to perfection.
This may take a year or so. But by 2017 season we should be a contender in the east.

Smart ( full potential)
Young ( full potential)
LEGIT SF
KO???
LEGIT CENTER

Bench
Young or Veteran Point guard
Bradley
Crowder?? Draft choice??
Sully???
Zeller???

Can be an exciting team to watch and we might also have another top 5 pick next year , maybe two.

In Danny we Trust.

Not sure if current starters AB and Sully would accept becoming bench players, unless it was on a stacked team out west

Do we have the best bench in the NBA? Yes, we do. Unfortunately, they're also our starting 5.  :)

(it was a joke...well, sort of!)

The team is pretty deep. KO is a great spark to come off the bench. Other guys like Thornton, Marcus Smart and Bass are also nice role players. I'd love for Young to overtake Bradley, because I think Avery would be better served coming off the bench as a stopper. Let him put more energy into fewer minutes. But that's not going to happen yet, if at all. As of right now it's not the best bench in the league but it's not that bad either.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

Second units by teams like Golden State and San Antonio would crush our starters.

And their third string mixed with their Dleaguers would probably crush our bench.

too easy to simply say no, and not interesting either. how about we change up the thread question a bit:

where would you rank the celtics bench among other nba benches?

there, maybe that will create a bit more lively conversation.  :)

The Celtics bench averages 39.7 points per game (6th), 15.9 rebounds (12th), 9.7 assists (3rd), 3.7 steals (2nd), 1.9 blocks (10th), 5.5 turnovers (4th worst), 47.6% FG% (5th).

So, the production actually isn't bad.  However, a lot of it is skewed because the Boston bench is 5th in minutes played.

Idk if you guys understand what I was saying,

I'm saying our starting 5 is full of good bench players and would have the best bench in the NBA no question.

Sully is better than any other bench player in the league.
Zeller is a solid backup center
Crowder was already a good bench player
Bradley is a great bench player as well

Probably deepest is more accurate as we have about 10 good bench players.

You could do this same twisted thinking with any starting lineup in the league.
