Not that it ever was, celts are using west coast trip to add to bottom line of losses and all eyes toward lottery position. There once was a movie ishtar with warren beatty  and dutin hoffman directed by elaine may a comedy -they must have set out to make the most expensive comedy flop ever.they reversed roles making dustin the sex symbol and beatty the moron, left the nevada deserts for morocco and were bulldozing and moving dunes there -it turned out the biggest  most expensive flop while spike lee made his first movie on his credit card for 100,00 vs ishtar 100,000,000-spike lees movie went on to be huge hit- now danny is going to give a 10 day trial out on west coast trip to a 21 yr old three point shooter, don't we have a 19yr old now, -so dannys moving sand dunes while showcasing 35 yr old players and picking up a older vet that has only taken 13 shots-green replaced by crowder and young, rondo  by turner/smart--this is pure Ishtar

This is how rebuilds go. Green wasn't going to stay and Prince is part of the package. DA is just trying to get something else for this guy, which is his job.

Rondo most likely was out too, who wants to hang around for a rebuild, Doc didn't. And rondo and Green probably not enough to land an other star.

So DA cleans house. Plus Stevens will have more luck getting thew to the younger guys than the older ones. And if he has success with the young guys, older guys will have more respect for him.

Stevens system needs shooters. That's why the try out, and you never know if you get some thing unless you try it.

We probably have a couple more seasons of this, we are just about at the low, and soon it will be the long climb up. So buckle up. :D

i'm just worried for our rookies and young players, smart played ball all summeras did KO and the  nba season is long and grueling enough, adding losing to some of these guys that have little experience with that and the cherry is trading away your stars for flotsam- i can understand it ,you can understand it thorton ,wallace prince  can understand it but can the kids be that hardened yet-how can you expect these guys to sacrifice there bodies and push themselves to emotional and physical limits while being sabotaged from winning-it will become like NBA wrestling or the philly tank

I am perfectly OK with vet players getting minutes on this team as long as they are playing the game the right way.  Let the young players see what the vets are doing and what they have to improve on.  One of the best ways to make sure they do not develop bad habits early.  (See cult hero Walker and the 3 point shot)

Give the man (DA) some credit.  he has done it before, so maybe he knows what he is doing.

Agreed. Prince can help communication on defense. Thornton understands when to get his shot off and is the only option to fill that role Whe ile Young is sick. I have no problem with their minutes.

this is pure Ishtar

I think that's more applicable to the situation in Brooklyn right now.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

OK---zero mostel  and the original producers--now watching replay celts clippers-prince is skinny by todays standards--zeller is a bit more aggressive but passers must get their bounce passes up and he can't get lazy on hand offs,he got blocked a couple but so what and he hesitated on wide open shot but did in end take it -by next season zeller should be much better and a long term asset -what a steal danny --he should get more minutes and be let to really play through his errors-he should be good for 15 pts a game and more in certain matchups-

Vets are more impacted by losing/ tanking than rookies and younger guys. Vets want to be with other winners and will likely complain more. The young guys (Smart, Young, KO, and even Sully) are just trying to prove their worth and appreciate being on the court with some of the best talent for them to test their skills. Sure anyone would hate to lose and play for a losing team but no rookies would get playing time on a contender.

The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.
