The weight doesn't worry me.

But the attitude is a huge concern..

If the attitude is right , he can drop weight and be in shape .

Fragile bones, and weak work ethic may limit his NBA effectiveness.

I seen  several would be star bigs just drafted .....drift in and out of the NBA with little impact....due to early injury .

Does he have the drive to catch up to his career if he can't play till next year .

Is he another B Lopez with less IQ and motor.

Some people just don't know how good they have it.  I hope he doesn't become another wasted talent.  It's the saddest thing in the world.

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would
be a step down. I am pure 100 percent Celtic. I think if you slashed my wrists, my

Blowing off conditioning workouts while you are ballooning in weight in your rookie year and have nothing else to do is a very bad sign.

Isnt this the clown that thought it was funny to tweet a star (I forget which one it was) asking her out or something? Yeah, there is a red flag all over this one.

Edit: So it was not a star it was just Kim Kardashian (but she was married to a star at the time) He ten tweets that he is moving on to Rihanna and asks her to meet him at Giorgio's for dinner. Yeah they better rope this one in quickly.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I'm not so much concerned about maturity. The kid is 20 years old, there's a ton of room to improve there maturity wise. He's still a kid.

The weight and the work ethic on the other hand is another. That's pretty concerning.

Hope the Sixers get fed up enough to trade him to us for anyone on our roster they want. I'd still take a chance at building around Embiid.

Maybe we can send Sully to show him how to do it?

Its a price is right situation.  We can get Embiid if we were to pick in front of Philly.  Say we picked 2 or 3, and Philly picks four or 5.

Now that Philly has determined that Noel is a 5, not a 4. A deal like 2 or 3 and Sullinger for Embiid and 4 makes sense for both sides.  Its kind of a win win for both sides really.

But it all depends on draft positioning though.

That's the problem with the 76er's type of tanking. When Luc Mbah a Moute is your veteran leader, it does not bode well for young players' maturity and development. We at least have Gerald Wallace and had Rondo, Green, etc.

On another note, did anyone actually read the article? I was about to blast him with Sully references, but literally the only thing this kid can do right now is walk. In my (admittedly limited) medical knowledge, it's not too far a stretch to assume that, with the necessary caloric intake of a 7-footer, combined with only walking for exercise, he would put on weight.

His immaturity may run the risk of threatening his career though. Overweight big guys get hurt, and big guys who get hurt repeatedly when young often have short and disappointing careers.

Interesting to note that even though he's been hurt too, Marcus Smart has played in more games than three of the five guys taken ahead of him. If you consider Randle too it's been a pretty injury-plagued top 7 of this last draft.

I didn't even read the article, but my first reaction was "what the hell can he do to exercise right now"?

still he should be watching what he eats in this situation. rehabilitation and recovery will be difficult at that weight. I suspect it will be 3 full seasons before we get a glimpse of what kind of player he might be at this rate.

That would be as diabolical as trading Austin Rivers to the Clips in the year the C's have their first-round pick.

I don't see why a 7-footer would have a necessary caloric intake that so outstripped his physical activity any more than the rest of us would.

Thousands of miles away from home, given everything in the world--and his kid brother gets killed. Yeah, he still has a job and apparently needs to grow up, but he's a human being.
