Crazy, can't say I think much of Doc the GM right now.

HO HUM!!!

Was this worth the effort? A 2017 2nd rounder? That's like having a dollar in all pennies.

Austin was expiring, so you let him play, see what he's got under Stevens, and let him expire if he's a problem or disaster. Maybe you get more in a S&T this summer given you have his Bird rights.

If my choices are Rivers, or a dollar, I'll take the dollar.
Me too.

Which, coincidentally, is the going rate for a Rivers rookie card on eBay right now.  (Minus shipping of course)

This was such a terrible move for the Clippers that my brain is still having issues processing it.  Reggie Bullock has essentially been as good (as bad) as Austin Rivers, so Doc Rivers made a relatively expensive move just to acquire his son, who's not any better than the guy he just drafted in the first round in 2013.

Agreed.  But don't forget Nate Robinson, that was the grease that set this deal in motion.

Doc, "okay Danny I'll overpay for my son but figure out how to get me Nate Rob in the process as insurance, cause ya know, Austin isn't that good.. yet"

Danny, "great idea reuniting Shrek & Donkey.  sorry to make this awkward, but business is business.  Just think if you win it all this year, the father/son storyline!  espn will eat it up.."

I think we are also getting a trade exemption equal to Rivers salary.  With the Bogan's trade exemption being traded to Cleveland last summer we all know Danny can pull a rabbit out of a hat with those.

Who meant more to the Celtics, Will Solomon or Austin Rivers?  Debate.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

According to Arash Markazi, the Clippers aren't sending out a second rounder, which makes this way more logical.

I get that we're clearing as much cap space as possible. But I guess I'm still a little surprised that Ainge would rather have a 2017 2nd round pick than Bullock, even if we'd rather give minutes to Young, Bradley, etc. Must mean he thinks Bullock is a waste of space, and he obviously knows more than i do.
He's certainly looked like a waste of space so far.

Maybe it's Phoenix sending out one? Otherwise, they're only giving up Shav for Bullock? Robbery.

I found this very suspicious.  He is an ESPN LA reporter...whereas Stein is an NBA reporter and tweeted about the pick.

Either way I don't care, as none of these guys will be on this team this year or ever.

I read that Farmar will also most likely be waived. Does that mean Rivers would be the backup PG? Lol The SG minutes are already taken by Reddick and Crawford.

Clippers tried hard to keep their draft picks but will end up sending a 2017 second round pick to Boston in the Rivers deal.

Nice recovery, since his prior report made zero sense.

The Rivers TPE marks the 6th at Ainge's disposal.

Granted, two of these are so small as to be practically unusable. But the others all could bear some fruit down the line.
