While all indications are that Austin Rivers will be playing for someone besides the Celtics very soon, there's still a slight glimmer of hope that he may remain in Boston.

The deal that would send him to the Los Angeles Clippers to play for his father, former Celtics coach Doc Rivers, has not been finalized yet.

While not speaking about the trade with the Clippers specifically, Danny Ainge acknowledged on 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich show that there were "some details to iron out" in regards to Rivers' status.

"We're in the process," Ainge said. "There's a chance he could be in a Boston uniform. We'll know more in the next couple of days."

Of course a deal could fall thru. Still seems line he's gone. Someone suggested using DET as the third party (Gigi Datome), with Bullock going to the Pistons. Seems to make some sense considering they're thin at SG.... pretty low risk for DET, and some value for a guy like GD who has a questionable NBA future.

I thought they waived Bullock?

12:50pm: Farmar will not be heading to the Celtics in the deal, Murphy tweets.

12:43pm: The Celtics have told Austin Rivers that the trade will be finalized today, a source tells Shams Charania of RealGM

12:36pm: The Suns are drawing increasing mention as the likely third team in the deal, tweets Marc Stein of ESPN.com. The involvement of Phoenix, which is under the cap, would allow the Celtics not to have to take back any salary for Rivers, Stein points out, and that would also let the Celtics create a trade exception. The belief is that the Suns covet Bullock, though the Clippers would prefer not to surrender him, according to Stein. In any case, Rivers still hasn’t reported to Boston, though that’s with the permission of the Celtics, who’ve promised him that they’ll send him to the Clippers, and that remains the plan

On a plane -- can't add much -- I'd heard the hope was for the trade to get done sometime this afternoon, but who knows

Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine  ·  11m 11 minutes ago

For sake of Twitter clarity: Boston allowed Austin Rivers to wait at home because Celts made it clear they'd move him on in subsequent trade

Shams Charania @ShamsCharania  ·  15m 15 minutes ago

Boston has informed Austin Rivers that trade sending him to father Doc Rivers' Clippers will formalize today, league source tells RealGM.

===
Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine  ·  24m 24 minutes ago

But Austin Rivers, I'm told, never reported to Celtics after deal because Boston pledged to get him to Clippers. And that remains the plan

Suns are believed to covet Reggie Bullock from Clippers. Clips would naturally prefer to make deal without surrendering Bullock. But ...

Phoenix increasingly mention as a likely third-team participant so Celtics don't have to take back any salary in sending Austin Rivers to LA

Expectation here at @nbadleague Showcase remains that Clips will seal trade to acquire Austin Rivers by week's end. Perhaps as soon as today

Per reports about what Celtics will be getting back for Austin Rivers - Jordan Farmar will not be one of those guys.

The #Suns trade talks for Reggie Bullock is back in play. Things change fast. It'd be a three-team deal to get Austin Rivers to the Clips.

Nepotism at its finest, giving up assets for a scrub.  If we hold out long enough, maybe we can get DeAndre Jordan.

Or just sign him in the off-season...

I think the off season is the way to go.  Maybe, even though the Clips can give more money, we can convince him that the team is his and will be built around him.  Yeah, what was that Aerosmith song, oh yeah, Dream On!  :-(

Three-way trade between LAC, BOS, PHX near, w/Austin Rivers to Clips, Reggie Bullock to Suns, Shavlik Randolph to Cs, per source.

Clips need to send out another player in that deal.. Probably CDR.
