I do feel bad for Blatt.
He is a good coach.

He's making 20 million dollars on a 4 year contract without having any NBA playing or coaching experience. Lucky him.

Dan Gilbert is a creep, so I have a hard time feeling bad for the team. I feel badly for Blatt, who is a good coach, and for the fans, and for Kyrie Irving.

If you had told me two years ago that Kyrie Irving would be the third most entitled superstar on his own team, I wouldn't have believed it.

 ;D

As they say on the internet, I lol'd.

How funny would it be if Love leaves , Lebron leaves cause love signed elsewhere , and Wiggins becomes an MVP candidate in a few years ? Only Cleveland could muff up that bad ....

Cleveland and about 70 % of this blog messed that one up.  It is a good team
on paper (3 big stars) and might have worked out, but their chemistry is worse
than anyone could foresee.  I give them all an F for how they've  handled
the struggle, starting with Lebron.  As the leader he should be teaching others
how to be patient and positive.  Instead it's the opposite.

I thought that chemistry was going to be a major obstacle to overcome. Neither Waiters or Irving have their head screwed on straight, the FO is a major league clusterF, they have a rookie NBA coach, they're not a contender as constructed, and the spotlight was going to be white-hot.  Add some critical injurys/whatever to Varejo and LBJ and the fact that things have not worked well is no surprise.

I never thought they would contend in year 1, but given what's happening in the NBA this year, I think they have a better chance now than before because there is no dominant team this year (IMO). There's still a long way to go and plenty of time to turn things around.

I'm no LeBron fan, but the number of Cavs-related threads on this forum is bordering on ridiculous.

Well, our season's more or less out the window again, and the sharks are circling in Ohio.

Plus a lot of times people don't check to see if their topic's being covered before starting a new thread.  At a minimum I'll take this over the typical cavalcade of Rondo threads, even when they were Celtics-related.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

WIggins is legit.  If Love leaves, that's one of the worst trades ever.  But Love isn't leaving.  The Cavs will be fine.

Semi reminds me of Brooklyn last year.  They started the season 10-21.  Everyone overreacted.  I kept saying they would make the playoffs...  they end up finishing the season 44-38.

Cavs have already had one 8-game win streak this season.  They are the 6th seed right now.  They are 1-8 in games LeBron has missed.  So they are basically 18-12 this year with him.  Not great, but they will figure it out.  They just brought in a bunch of new players.  It'll come together.

I'm doubtful they have the pieces to get over the big hump though.  Sideshow Bob is too busted up to play the crazy energy big man role these days, and he has slowed quite a bit.

Will they have the guts to ride it out with the team they have, letting them learn, or try to jump the goose with a trade for veteran role players?

My guess is that they make the playoffs this year on Lebron's back, but not much happens in the offseason.

Also, if the playoffs started today Cleveland would play Toronto.  Who you picking in that series?  Next round would be Washington or Miami.  Washington could be a problem, but I think most would still take the Cavs.  The Hawks are the 1 seed in the east right now, are you actually going to take them over the Cavs in a 7 game series?

What do you mean "if"?  ;)

Yeah, I understand all that. It's just that when I logged on to the forums page, the "Latest Forum Topics" box to the right had three Cavs-related threads.

At least Rondo played for this team. But I see your point.

As of today, I would pick Toronto and Washington over the Cavs. The Cavs are playing bad right now and need to step up if they want to be considered contenders.

I would definitely pick the Raptors, especially with them having homecourt advantage. People are whining about how the Cavs  were without Lebron for 8 games. The Raptors haven't had their all star for the last 15-20 and just keep on winning!
